Butterfly Kisses

This really looks washed out and its a beautiful card.  I love butterflies and this paper is creme, black and white DSP.  The card is SU Black then a layer of white then the DSP and some lovely lace I got a Hobby Lobby the other day.  Lace is playing a big part of card making lately, the card was quick and simple to put together with a simple salutation in the corner.
Journal Time: Today was a busy day getting ready for this wonderful trip to St. Louis, actually its Pacific, Missouri where Six Flags is.  Now not a lot of people know that if I hear a roller coaster I go crazy.  I love riding roller coasters I just don't know how the Titanic tower in my back would like them.  Oh well I'm going to meet some special ladies that I met on the Internet several years ago and have bonded with.  We all have a huge love for stamping be it SU, Vintage or just cute.  Some of the girls are coming from afar like me, Tennessee, Kansas, west Missouri, and St. Charles, Mo.  I can hardly wait.  My car is packed and I'm so excited to finally meet them after sharing so much with them over the past few years.  Tomorrow Allen my son in law is having back surgery and I will sit with my daughter at the hospital in Chattanooga until he's out of surgery.  Then I will head out for my trip.  I won't be posting until I'm back because I decided not to bring my laptop.   I went to see Mom today she is doing good she is having a hard time remembering her children's names.  She told me she fell and had to have back surgery and just got home (that actually happened in 1973).  But she is happy and jokes with the other ladies there at the home.  She asked me to talk with the eye doctor and find out when the darkness would clear up in her eyes.  She is legally blind and she will never get her eye sight back its kind of ironic since my sister was born legally blind and was put in the Illinois State School for the Blind to live.  When I leave her, she walks me to the car and then she heads right back to the girls and her buddy David.  She really is happy and enjoys talking with the other patients where she's at.   Well I told her I was going on a trip but 5 minutes later she had forgotten but I feel better because I know she is eating well and enjoying her life.
So now I need to get my shower, finish my packing and get some sleep.  I told the girls this morning I'm so excited I almost wet my pants.  This is so neat to met up with those we meet on the Internet sharing our love of stamping.  OK, I've rambled on as much as I can maybe that will make up for me not being online for a few days.  Have a wonderful rest of the week and say a prayer for Allen that the surgery goes well and that the surgeon doesn't sneeze (that's a private joke from Allen himself).  Much love to you and remember to 'Play it Forward' one little smile means so much.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Sea Shells by the Sea Shore

Yep, I've lost my mind, the past two days has been cool actually I pulled out my pants and a long sleeve shirt.  I enjoy using the images that you don't see alot of.  I colored this a few weeks ago and finally put it together today while working on my computer software.   It was also a color challenge but I forgot who for, I used SU Kraft, red, white and brown.  I used Deedee's digi 'Shells from the Sea', she has over 100 images for sale and quite a few a only $1 head on over there and check them out at: http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/

I'm so frustrated with my computer,  the dog sitter and then I'm busy packing for my mini trip to St. Louis this weekend.   Gosh I'm just not as organized as I use to be guess I should just suck it up and say I'm lazier since I retired.   Have a wonderful evening.
God Bless,

A real Leap of Faith!

I have a busy week so I made a few cards today to put in my stash and use over the next few days.  This little cutie is Deedee's digi  'Leap of Faith'  colored in Copic's, the cardstock is DCWV.  I popped the image up with pop dots then added stitches with a white pen but they didn't come out to good.

Journal Time:  I've been busy packing stuff up for a busy week.  I have to take the dog to the vet tomorrow because his cough is so bad he keeps me awake at night and it sounds painful.  Friday my son in law is having back surgery so I will be sitting with my daughter until he's out of surgery and doing ok.  Then I need to get in my car and drive to St. Louis, Missouri about 9 hours away.  We've been planning this get together for about 2 months, there are six girls who met on the Internet several years ago and we wanted a girls weekend so its coming in just a few days.   We're going to chat, stamp, swap goodies and just have fun.   Then I will come home Monday when I've caught up with sleep and enjoy a long, quiet leisure drive before I get things ready for a Yard Sale the following weekend.   I'm really excited so prayers for Allen then prayers for a safe trip all around for all 6 of us meeting up in Missouri.   Big Hugs,
Jeanine

Butterfly Grass

I made this card a few days ago using SU card stock, SU stamp set 'Inspired by Nature' and the SU butterfly punch.  I added stickles in the center of the butterfly to bring up the body.  I don't have a clue what that little smudge is in the lower left corner because its not on the card, obviously its on the camera lens.  I'm still looking for my mojo, it left about a week ago and its lost can't find it anywhere!
Journal Time: I haven't journal 'ed in a long time, maybe because I'm not feeling real good about myself lately.  I've started a diet with Nutri-systems this past Monday and actually have to say I'm eating more now than I was before.   Let me just say I can help you save yourself some money, the food is OK and you have a good choice but I normally don't eat till dinner.  Now I'm eating breakfast, lunch and dinner  plus 2 snacks, but I'm still getting hungry after 8 at night.  That's when I eat when I sit down to watch TV and relax, I know you shouldn't eat after 7 PM but I do.   It's not worth the money to do Nutri-Systems .  You get this huge box of dinners, soup, bars, cookies but they don't give you much information to go on.  Nor do they tell you, you have to go buy fruits, veggie, salad stuff so now your eating pre-packaged cereal, Chinese, oh and you have to have protein so you need to buy chicken and turkey.  So it's really not worth it, I can buy the same meals in the freezer section.  I guess the one good thing would be that it all comes in a box an its easy to transport!   I really want to lose this weight and I would love to exercise if my COPD didn't get in the way.  I wish I had someone close by that would want to walk or exercise with me, keep me mobile and honest three days a week.
OK girls please 'Play it Forward' it's such a wonderful feeling.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Fall, it's finally here!

Yep its official its Fall but why was it 93 outside today?  Guess I'll just keep dreaming of the fall leaves and the snow flurries (since we don't get snow here).  I made this card for Deedee's card challenge this week.  She asked for Orange, Yellow and Green so I used some Copic's to color with, Paper Wishes DSP and SU cardstock.  My image is 'Harvest Love' from Deedee's Digi's, she has so many beautiful Fall images you really should check them out at: http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/
Everyone have a good night and know your in my thoughts and prayers.  God Bless,

Clean & Simple

Quick card here I lost my mojo and all my new goodies from HSN came in so I need to get busy.  This is a simple white card that I embossed with my Scor-buddy every 1/2 inch then I added inchie's from Inkadinkado mounted on SU Only Orange card stock and inked with Only Orange.  I punched the edge of the card with the SU border punch added some orange cording frazzled the ends and I was done!
Then I went on to admire all my goodies I bought on the HSN craft day blow out.  I got Martha Stewart embossing board with a coupon so it only cost me $12. and all of it was shipped for $5.20.  Good thing this only happens twice a year, or I'd be in a poor house.  I bought some beautiful black, beige, white & silver paper from DCWV for $9.95 and it has 100 sheets of 12 X 12 and 100 sheets of 8 X 8.  I'd be dumb not to buy it.  Well it looks like I won't get any crafting done today my Daughter and husband came over an stayed a few hours and now my Grand daughter is coming by for a few hour until her boyfriend gets off work so.....I'll catch you later but have a great night.  God Bless,
Jeanine

I love coffee a Latte!

Coffee and me wow I can't imagine starting the day without coffee. I have been a coffee-holic for 30 years and I love this digi from Deedee's blogspot called 'Cuppa Love'.  I used SU card stock and DSP along with Black magic mesh  put a ribbon over all of it and a cute flower and I was done.   Deedee has over 100 digi's to choose from I can't imagine you go to look and not find something that you love:  http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/  check them out and enjoy your day.  God Bless,

Butterfly Wishes

I love butterflies, I really believe they are one of God's very special creations that bring us much awe and delight.  These are an old retired stamp set from SU I stamped them then colored them with Copic's, cut them out and then put Crystal Effects on them.  The card stock is SU but the beige paper is handmade pressed paper that I bought at a craft fair years ago.  I used SU border punch and a verse from the new SU stamp set.
This is the same as the above but I used Hero Arts lace border on it.   I thought these would be good cards for almost anything and I love all the new lace coming out for cards.
I used SU white cardstock and my Scor-pal buddy to put lines on the card then I added the lace from Hero's Art and I was finished.  I just love butterflies so making these cards were quite easy.
One last butterfly before I close for the night.  This one is from the same SU retired set only colored with Copic's Y18 and YR 16. I added some vintage DSP and concluded that I'd made enough butterflies for the day.   I'm tired of 93 degrees I want to go outside and enjoy the outdoors but its just not cooling off just that's why I can't get my motor running.
Remember to 'Pay it Forward'.

Wedding Wishes

Real quick post tonight as I've been surfing the web and just realized I hadn't posted for Thursday yet and now its Friday.
This is a digital image from Deedee's digi's called 'Endless Beginnings'  although I don't have a picture of the inside I used 'Long Stemmed Thoughts'  Rose on the inside for this wedding card for my brother.  The paper is SU DSP Wedding paper, SU Silver paper and Copic's to color my images.  I love Deedee's images and you should really check out her digi's she has a great assortment of images that cover all the bases and she has some great tutorials about digital images.  http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/
Gosh I'm tired and don't think I'm making sense guess I'll re-check my blog in the morning!
God Bless remember to 'Play it Forward'.

HSN Craft Day

Wow since QVC quit with Scrapbooking and Crafting HSN took over and everyone is over at HSN.  Anna Griffin, Martha Stewart, Hot of the Presses, K & Company.  Well I spent my stash, its a good thing my granddaughter and I are having a Yard Sale this weekend.

My card for today was actually done a few days ago since I knew about today's sale.  This is an image from Doodle Pantry, Laurie is having another release on the 15th and I can't wait.  This card is SU card stock with a Cuddlebug folder, several layers and I always forget about this bow until I go to my friend True's house.  She has arthritis really bad in her hands so making bows are hard for her, this ribbon accents is perfect for her.  She did design a bow maker out of a piece of wood and some nails and will use that occasionally.
Have I mentioned I love this birdie?  I love this inchie card with my paper flower I used retired SU card stock and some pink vellum and I was done.  These birdies are pre-colored so this card was super quick.  I think maybe Laurie should have a contest to name the bird.  Herman, Stanley or Bertie the Bird got any suggestions?
Have a great day be back tomorrow with my grand total of purchases I have to reel myself in.
Pay it forward girls,  God Bless,
Jeanine

Make a paper flower tutorial

I've decided to do another tutorial for my post this week. This verse is from Deedee's Digi's called 'Words of Comfort'. It's a simple card made with SU cardstock and Spellbinder frames, a few pearls and the glorious flower that is so easy to make so let's get started.
Things you will need to get started: some SU cardstock, SU scallop punch, brads, Crimper and patience! OK, punch out 3 scallops of the color card stock you want,
and then run them through the Crimper several times just to break down the fibers.
Next, take just one circle and separate the layers very slowly.
(Yes its possible!) It took me a while to get one started. When you do, then keep going around the edge, then pull them apart and scrunch em up.
I find that 6 layers makes the best flowers and the more crinkled the better for forming the flower.
Now that you've scrunched them, un-scrunch them and stack em up.
Put a brad in to hold them all together - don't worry, it won't show.
Now just start scrunching layer by layer. Now here is where I tell you I tried it with DSP (double-sided paper) only I didn't try to separate them I just punched out 6 scallops AND... it works great!
Here is your finished flower, oh wait I have another picture
In this picture are 3 flowers that I made with SU double-sided paper. Make sure you use double-sided or it looks horrible. Then for a tip that I just learned (see, an old dog can learn new tricks), to make yourself some leaves, take the SU 5 petal punch and punch out some green cardstock. Then cut them like I show in the sample, and see how I placed them under the flowers with glue?

So now get busy girls then place those darling flowers on your cards with a verse from Deedee's digi's and you'll have a great card!  Easy Peasy!  I would love to see your flowers so show me when you can!  Now the next question is how do I get it in a envelope? OK that's my next tutorial!
Have a great week, God Bless.

Teacher Teacher!

Just a quick card I made for a challenge a few weeks ago and I didn't enter it.  Just not myself right now and I don't know why.
Anyway this is one of Deedee's digi's 'Color my world' and I think its so cute.  It's been a long time since I saw a box of crayons I couldn't remember what color it was.  This school paper is DCWV and I used Sizzex texture paper and rick rack from 1980's.  Seriously I found this in my sew box I haven't seen in 10 years and I got tons of rick rack and ruffles.  This image was colored with Copic's and I really enjoyed making this card.  Head on over to http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/ and look over the images Deedee has designed for us.
God Bless

Dropping by to say Hi

Yep unhuh another Doodle Pantry image isn't it sweet?
Pumpkin Birdie with 4 verses for $2.50 I think we need to name this birdie he is soooooooooooooooo cute I can't get enough of him.  I used SU card stock, DSP & SU ribbon.  I colored everything in Copic's used the SU corner punch and how pretty is that?

Another nameless animal I guess I need to name him I still need to figure out what that orange thing in the middle of the image is.  I tried a double bow and don't like it but its to late, I used SU paper and my 'As seen on TV' paper cutter my brother in law brought me for Christmas.  I love it cause it really changes the look of the paper.  I love this Doodle Pantry worm remember when I made the Gummy bear card?  Same guy only he wasn't sick!   This image is called 'Get Well Worm' check them out at http://www.doodlepantry.com/ Laurie has so many cute images, wait till you see my piggy card!

Journal Time:  It's been a busy few days, I'm still trying to recover from not having a Monday.  Now my whole week is messed up, I'm still on Tuesday heck I forgot to put my trash out yesterday because I thought it was Monday morning.  Daa!  when the garbage truck pulled up oh well I didn't fill up the can so he just got a free pass by my house.  Then I ran to the Post Office sent off a package and then went to see Mom.  She was her same old self she kept asking me when I was taking her home.  She just doesn't understand it why she has to stay there, but I am so much more calm, my blood pressure is almost normal and I know she's well taken care of.  Well gang I have two tutorials to work on so I guess I need to shut down this computer and get to work.  Have a great day and remember 'Pay it forward'.
God Bless,

Think Pink!

I am madly in love with Doodle Pantry, Laurie has such a sense of whimsy with real animals yet the softness of design to bring darling digital images for me to adore.  Today I made this slider card with her new set 'I will survive'.  It's so cute and I love the bird which she showcases in her digi's a lot.

I wish I could tell you the name of this DSP but I bought it last weekend at the closing of Crop Shop and there isn't a name on it.
I used SU Card stock and covered it with DSP the measurements are 3 5/8 X 5 1/2 inches.  I used Offray ribbon, oval punches if anyone wants directions or a tutorial I'll make one up if I have enough interest in it.  I actually made 5 cards using Doodle Pantry images so I'll be posting more of those this later this week.
God bless,
Jeanine

SU Playday Fun

Oh Golly I had fun today
I got to play with all this SU stuff and look at lots of the new stuff geez it was fun.  The #1 card will work perfect for the OWH challenge, the CS is Poppy Parade some Marina Mist for the bird, Old Olive, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight for the flower.  The flower is made out of 2 3/8 scallop punch, 1 3/4 scallop punch and the flower from Boho Blossoms punch and the leaves are from the 5 petal flower.  We used the two step bird punch, and the Modern Label punch I would say thats a punch card and I added the google eye for the OWH challenge.
Card #2 is my favorite.
The card is Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and White.  We used the SU stamp set 'Just Believe' and used markers to color the stamp then huffed on it and stamped it, Love it!!  Then we took a brad opened it up and pinched it around the 5/8" grosgrain Old Olive ribbon. Super darling card and I just realized I didn't put a greeting on it.

Card #3 is Kraft CS, Black CS and SU DSP Newsprint.  We used the 'Elizabeth' Stamp in Stazon black then stamped the greeting on white punch it with the small oval and popped it up with SU Pop Dots, then we used the Smooch (what a glow it gives the card) Fabulous!!!!!
Card #4 is super easy and fast.
SU CS Cherry Cobbler, White and we used the SU 'Gifts of Christmas' stamped in Cherry Cobbler then we used two way glue and Dazzling Diamonds to sparkle the dove, pearls for the flowers and the corners were done with the Scallop Trim.
I want to thank Brenda for all the wonderful tips I learned today, the fellowship with all the girls there and especially the laughter. Brenda is such a crack up she always has a come back for you and she's so talented.  I look forward to Playdays each month. Thank you Brenda for a wonderful afternoon.

Pretty little kitty.

I got busy the other day and made about 10 cards so I had a stash to choose from.  This is the other image from Deedee's Digi's called 'Unconditional Love'.  My previous post was the other image from the set and as with that image I colored everything with my Copic's, I used a split SU Top Note as background, used my punches to punch out the ovals and added the perfect ribbon, quickly added a couple dew drops and I was done.  With Labor Day almost here I hope everyone has a great 3 day weekend.

Journal Time:  Yesterday I got to spend the day with my friend True in Chattanooga.  We haven't seen each other in months but we talk each week.  I was so excited to go I forgot to bring my stamping stuff but trust me True had enough for both of us.  She showed me all the projects they had done at SU Play day, I get to go tomorrow so I 'll post all those project tomorrow night.  True taught me how to make SU flowers so that will be following next week when I made a tutorial for them.  I just wanted to say I removed the security code from my comment section so it isn't a hassle to leave a comment.  I try relentlessly to leave comments on every ones blogs I visit each time, lately my comments have slowed to almost nothing yet I'm leaving close to 20 comments on everyone else so I'm taking another look at whats important to me and whats not.  I was always taught 'Do unto others as you would have done unto you'.   Think about that and then 'Play it forward'!

Best friend forever

Yep I really love the easle card its like a card in a stand up frame that tells it like it is.  I used MS punch 'trellis', Prima flowers, some cardboard stickers, rhinestone gems, vanilla brads die black, puppy ribbon and SU Cardstock.  The image is from Deedee called
'Unconditional Love' for some reason Yahoo won't let me bring a copy of the set over to my blog.  But its has 2 images and 3 salutations for $3.00 go check it out at: http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/

Journal time:  I went by to see Mom yesterday and she is doing great.  She really has fun with David and Agnes as they take her driving each day.  Agnes calls her Miss Clara and they are always teasing each other and Mom smiles alot.  I personally am happy that she is content there as long as she doesn't have to listen to the TV blasting.  You know old people their hearing is poor but this one woman must be deaf because she complains if it isn't up loud and its really annoying when your trying to talk.  But Mom and I have a nice talk and I usually stay an hour or more then she walks me out to the car with the help of Agnes.  My blood pressure is down to normal for the first time in probably 6 years, yep it will be 6 years since we moved to Tennessee this month.  The time has flown by but I love the people here, I love the seasons and I feel blessed to have what I have.
I plan on making reservations this week for a cruise, then Ryan my grandson and I plan on going to Hogwarts in October so I plan on making hotel reservations for that, then this Crazy lady wants to go on a trip with me so Nelda get that passport.   Tomorrow I'm going to Chattanooga to visit my friend True for the day and stamp away.  We haven't seen each other in over 3 months so I can hardly wait.  I'm doing a little reading and today I actually spent 4 hours in my studio and made some cards.  I'm just not motivated right now but once I get these yard sales out of the way and get the house in shape I'll put it on the market.  But that's a way off and I plan on taking each day at a time since its just me.
Until tomorrow, remember to 'Play it forward'.
Big hugs,
Jeanine
