Freebie digi's for Soldiers at OWH

Yep that's right 'Operation Write Home' has some pretty nice digital images for use when making cards for OWH.  This is one of the sets and it has thirteen dog images and verses its called Ciara 2 and almost at the bottom of the page here:
http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/p/digi-stamp-donations.html
I used SU cardstock and scraps of other paper to pull it together, the flower I got in a set and forgot the name.  I did color the bone and ribbon images with Copic's, and the red ribbon is SU.

Busy times around here so as much as I'd love to talk I haven't got time, oh and my home phone isn't working since I rarely get calls it could have been out since Sunday's storm.  One more reason I should cancel my home phone service and go with my Go phone.  Even at a dollar a day an 10 cents a minute its cheaper than what AT & T charges me a month $49.80.  Hmmmmmmmmmm I may just end the service tomorrow.
Ok love you all big hugs,

Friends Tri Shutter Card

This is the first time I've made a card like this but it sure was easy.  I got the tutorial off SCS, the image 'Ladybug Hugs' from Deedee's Digi's.  It actually would have or could have been used for last weeks challenge at Crafting with Deedee but as usual I'm a day late and a dollar short.  So instead I'll enter it in the cards for SCS Tri Shutter Card.    I used SU So Saffron paper with paper from K & Company, little gems and large crystal gems.
I still can't believe how easy it is to make if your interested here's the link: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/trishuttercard/ just to give you a hint you need a piece of cardstock 12 by 5 1/2 inches then score it at 2,4,8,10 then decorate it, it's that easy.

I'm sorry I've been quite busy with Mom lately seems like she is really confused lately and Saturday night she asked me to take her to the doctor because she was short of breath, stomach pains and she couldn't sit down it hurt her bad.  Well after some questions I decided she wasn't going to quit until I took her to the doctor, but the walk in clinic was closed so was Urgent Care, so we ended up at  the ER.  After getting inside she decided she wasn't hurting as bad as she was but we were there so almost 4 hours later they sent us home.  Her EKG was great, X-rays awesome, Oxygen levels perfect, Blood pressure high but otherwise she was fine.  She got all the TLC she needed and was released, she felt so good she walked all the way to the car in the parking lot and I was smiling cause it was midnight and she was happy.  Sunday she was great all day while I played downstairs making this card then I went to the airport to pick up my daughter & her husband who were returning from Puerto Rico and a cruise.  Well its just been a busy around here for the past few days so Mom is resting and she's just fine, me I'm headed to bed it's been a long day.  Remember to 'Pay it forward'.

Long time no see

I love giraffe's their so regal, gentle, and awesome.  This digital image is from Doodle Pantry and I colored it with Copic's and cut it out.  I found this pretty brown paisley print in my stash cut it with ziggie scissors added some organdy ribbon and SU ribbon popped the giraffe up with pop dots and I was done.  I just love this image and you can see more at http://www.doodlepantry.com/

Yesterday I used my new weedeater 'The Worx'. Well for all the money I spend on it I wasn't happy it's suppose to have a charge on it to cut around 3 thats three football fields.  It didn't make it for 20 minutes and I know I can't walk around three football fields in 20 minutes.  I charged the thing for 2 days so that wasn't the problem and it cut good but just not much and I had no intentions of spending another 25 dollars for a second battery.  So we'll just see how the 60 free trial goes.  I mowed the yard, trim two huge bushes and all before noon.  So needless to say I came in showered, and sat down to enjoy the rest of my book Amazing Grace by Danielle Steel.  It was actually really good and I read the whole thing in 3 days, no I'm starting on Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner.
Have a great weekend I'll be back here on Monday!
God Bless,

'Cuties for a Cure'

Some people don't know how to use inchies, so here are a few of my cards that I made using the new 'Cuties for a Cure' from Deedee's Digi's.  All the proceeds of this digi set go to finding a cure for childhood cancer.  The set has 12 images that are adorable, check out the set here: http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/
I just threw these together today for anyone that wants ideas on how to use them.
All the cards were made with SU card stock and mostly SU DSP, ribbon and with little gems.  These are six of the twelve little cuties and I'll post the rest later but $3 for such a great set and your purchase is donated the National Childhood Cancer Foundation.

Operation Write Home Challenge

I really believe in "Pay it Forward" and I love OWH it really fits me because I love to make cards and I love giving.  I usually make about 4 cards a day and I have a box I put them in.  After they've built up a while I stamp the backs with the OWH stamp put writing paper inside the cards and put the back flap in an envelope I'm done.  I try to mail off 100 cards a month and have been doing this for about a year and a half.
I made this card for the OWH S & S Sketch Challenge #26.
I used SU cardstock and retired background stamps from SU and 'Home Tweet Home' from Deedee's Digi's.  I love her digital images and she has over 70 in stock now.   I love Rhonda's sketch and whipped out the card quickly.  I used rope to hang my sign and Copic's to color my images.  To check out Deedee's images go to:

My second card I made with free digi's for OWH cards.  The digital image was offered by Ciara and its a sheet full of dog images.  I used some red SU card stock with red ribbon and scraps from my scrap basket.  I thought it would be a cute card for those soldiers who choose to write home as much as possible.  The free digitals on OWH are for use on cards going to the soldiers, you can find them here: http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/

Have a wonderful day and remember to 'Pay it forward' God Bless.

Are you kidding me?

Aren't baby goats cute?
I got this digital image from Laurie Wilson at Doodle Pantry.  I fell in love with her digital images when I saw this goat and the inchworms.  I used SU card stock and DSP, did you ever notice when you take a photo and put it on your blog you notice things you didn't see while making your card?  Check out the lower right corner what happened there?  This just cracks me up and usually I don't say anything hoping you all think someone came in after I posted and messed my card up.........LOL.  Ok if you believe that I have a bridge for sale in Arizona.
This second card just cracks me up, my grand daughter saw it and said 'Ummmmm he's got bubble gum all over his face!'  So bright and I colored the worms with Copic's.  I put wiggle eyes on them and used SU cardstock and DSP along with SU felt flowers.  I adore this SU DSP and saved it for special cards.  I think you should check out Laurie's digi's at:  http://www.doodlepantry.com/
she's a very talented artist and I love her giraffe.
Don't forget to 'Pay it forward'.

It's a Girl!

This is one of Deedee's new digital image sets 'It's a Girl!' I had fun coloring it with Copic's. (R81, R20, R30, T3).   I couldn't get a my coloring or shading right so I ended up sort of tye dying by Copics.  I think it turned out cute.  I used the frame trick using my Scor-pal and I needed something on the card so I pulled out my butterfly punches and had some fun finishing the card.
and check out her new sets and the dollar bin!!!
Have a great Sunday, God Bless.

Happy Anniversary

Isn't this an elegant card? I made it for my oldest daughters 23rd wedding anniversary, gosh I hope she doesn't check the blog before I take her and her husband Allen to the airport at 4:45 AM tomorrow morning.  Their flying to Puerto Rico then getting on a ship for a 7 day cruise.  I'm so proud of her and Allen, they have 3 wonderful kids Justin, Ryan and Lindsay.  Vicki is a RN and Allen is a manager at Auto Zone.   Happy Anniversary !
As for my card I used SU DSP Wedding Paper and Whisper White.  I used the Scor-pal and scored the frame around the 5 1/2 x 5 1/2  card.  I then put the SU Lattice diecut on and dressed it with Prima flowers and pearl gems.  The salutation is made on the computer because I ran out of room on the card.

Thinking of you is pretty much the same card except its a A-2 card and I stamped Thinking of you on the card stock.  This card is so quick and simple to make I think it actually took me longer to find the 5 same flowers than it did to make the card.
Well I've chatted away making this a long post but we have the weekend to look forward to and well Vicki an Allen have a cruise to look forward too!
'Play it forward' it's the thing to do.

Cocoa with Lilac's

Hello everyone, I made this little lavender card for the stitch challenge after all the work I realized this is a Sweet n Sassy stamp not a Deedee digitalstamp so all the faux stitching and pretty lavender DSP will just have to be.  I used SU card stock, ribbon and white pen, then I found this script DSP in my purple paper stash.

I have twelve of the standing 12 X 12 paper holders from SU and I store SU paper in the first 3 bins, then I sort by Specialty paper, texture paper, then colors.  I have a two drawer file cabinet that I keep SU 8 1/2 X 11 card stock.  Oh and then I have a small canvas bin for my 6 X 6 an 8X8 paper, and then I have a huge bin 18" tall 18 X 30 long on the floor that's full.  In August I am going to donate a bunch of DSP paper and all the retired ink pads to the elementary Art teacher.  In return for the donation I have the teacher get pictures and letters from all the little kids to send off to the soldiers with my OWH.  I still haven't seen the SU catalog which is OK cause I know I'm going to spend a bundle on the new color pens, pads, card stock, ribbon etc etc.

Well I planned to make this brief today but as usual I chattered on and on.  I can't have an adult conversation with my Mom so when I'm around big people I talk their ears off.  Mom is calling me her today and says there are kids playing on the back porch which is screened in and locked and there are no kids in the neighborhood so its a bad day for her.  Let's just hope and pray tomorrow is a good day for her.  God bless you all and remember to 'Play it forward'.

Gills night out!

I went back today and got a good picture of this card.  I made a ATC like this years ago for a swap. I thought I was so smart but after making over 15 I adjusted my attitude.  Any way this little cute image from Deedee's Digi's and its called 'Best Fishes'.  I colored the fish with my Copic's then mounted it on white card stock for my first layer, then I added Colorbok Shore Pak DSP and cut out the largest Spellbinder oval I had for this challenge.  I then added my yellow SU card stock my salutation and then started on the fish.  Remember Dep the hair gel?  Oh sorry some of you aren't as old as dirt, well its blue hair gel and perfect to use for a water effect.  When watered down a little put it in a baggie smoothed out and put over a little paper fishy.  The air left in the bag will come up as air bubbles

and look like fishies in water.  Because of the glare I had to stand up the card so it looks like he's half out of the water but when the card is laying down and as much of the air as can be expected is removed from the bag it's enchanting.  Now if you have a little that pokes it or chews on it I would not make this card cause that stuff tastes AWFUL!!!
Well I'm off to enter myself in Deedee's challenge http://www.craftingwithdeedeesdigis.blogspot.com/
See you all soon.
God Bless,
Jeanine

For You Marguerite - Matthew 17:20

This one is for my sister Marguerite, she passed almost two years ago of cancer but her influence is still with me all the time.  She use to have a mustard seed enclosed in a tiny ball she wore around her neck and she was always telling me about Matthew 17 : 20.  So today while I was looking through my verses and salutations I found this scripture, its the only one that I had and I'm not sure where it came from but I instantly thought of Marguerite and had to make this card to honor my big sister.
I used SU card stock Creamy Carmel and the DSP is PSX Harvest.  SU Corner punch, MS butterfly punches, Cuddlebug Dots and Florishes and my blow pen for coloring on the verse.
Have a wonderful Sunday and remember to 'Play it forward'.

Butterfly Inchies

Have I told you how I love inchies.  There's always a couple laying around that you just have to use.  This is a butterfly set from Inkadinkadoo for $5.99 I love butterflies think their my all time favorite objects.  Any chance I get to go to a butterfly farm I do it because they fascinate me so.  This card is made with SU white card stock and Certainly Celery some SU DSP and my all time favorite 1 inch organdy ribbon.

This card is a mess, it started out as a 5 by 7 and it was cute until I realized that I had made the card with the opening on the top so everything was upside down so I had to start again with the front then I had to cut it down and it just kept getting worse.  I got all these inchie clear stamps in one package for $5.99 from Michael's.

So its THURSDAY and Big Brother starts tonight!  My daughter Vicki got me started on this years ago and it's like a seasonal program we have to watch and then compare notes.  So who else is a Big Brother's Fan?  Even Mom enjoys watching so I can't deprive her of that can I?  Ok dinner is ready, corn on the cob, baked chicken, baked potatoes, dinner rolls and Steakhouse beans, yum.

I'm puzzled....about

Remember when Stampin Up had the puzzle cards well I found mine a few days ago and since I'm trying to use all my stash I pulled them out and decided to use the Baby Wipe technique to do something with these.
I used up alot of baby wipes and some of my re-inkers but think all these came out pretty good.
I know usually your suppose to use glossy paper but these weren't glossy but it worked well anyway and I enjoyed playing with them and some SU stamp sets.

I used the SU Bundle of Joy set for this one and I even tried to color them where I could with Copic's.   I'll be sending these out to 'Operation Write Home' and the end of the month.  I did finish my 100 cards to them for June but didn't get them mailed till July 1st.  I just love doing something different every now and then and these puzzles were fun to experiment with.
Have a wonderful evening.
God Bless,

Baby Time Cards

I was requested to make baby cards for a friend in Virginia, the other day I shared the baby buggy cards and here are the rest.  My first card is a SU card with SU stamp set Bundle of Joy, card stock white, certainly celery and Nana's Nursery DSP by DCWV.  The ribbon is from Ellen Hutson's store.
My second card is SU White & Going Gray card stock, DCWV black & white, white ribbon 1/8th inch, the photo sticker are some I bought 6-7 years ago and I haven't a clue.  I have some iris carts and some of the drawers are marked with whats in them.  I have a big drawer full of baby stuff: stamps, stickers, DSP, eyelets, ribbons, another drawer is full of animal stuff so when I need to make special cards I can go and pull out the whole drawer to find what I need.  I have a huge drawer with holidays except Christmas that I keep Easter, Valentines Day, St. Patty's Day, 4th of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  I've tried all kinds of ideas like all embellishments in one drawer, ribbons, tags, but this is the best I've come up with.
My last card is an inchie card!  I have these cute little stickers of baby's but to be honest even a magnifying glass I can't read the name on them.  I mounted these on white inchie's  put up a huge bow and used SU white card stock and MM DSP.
Well that's it for today but I'll be back tomorrow with a special digital image that I'll be posting up to Crafting with Deedee's digi's.  Have a wonderful night.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Happy 4th of July!

I took this free digi from OWH to honor all our soldiers near and far, old and new, an let them know how much I appreciate all they do to make our U.S.A. the best place to live.  I'm horrible at writing stuff, I just know that I wouldn't want to live anywhere else than the good U.S.A.  It's time to thank God for all our blessings and the lives of all those soldiers who serve our country to keep us free.

Anyone wanting any free images to make cards for the OWH soldiers just go to the website: www.owhstarsandstamps.org/

Have a wonderful holiday and God Bless the U.S.A.

Baby buggy love!

Aren't these so cute? I saw them online at Sandi's website sometime months ago and thought they would be adorable for anyone's baby.  I thought I had more scallop circles from SU and when I realized I didn't Spellbinder's came to the rescue although they are smaller.  These are so quick and easy to make and I have an order for 6 baby cards and 5 birthday cards so I made these yesterday.  I love them and I think finding 2 of each button

took the longest time.  First I cut the circles then put them through the Hot Shot with the Cuddlebug dots folder.  Then I ran 1 inch white strips though a MS border punch.  I attached with glue the border lace to the buggy and put a 1/4 inch circle in the joint to look like a junction.  I used my handy dandy ribbon maker and made little bitty bows for all the buggies.  Next I used 1 3/8 inch punch to make the wheels and attached the buttons as hubcaps with glue dots.
I will make envelopes for these buggies because they measure 3 3/4 inches by 3 1/2inches but they will steal your heart away.  I thank Sandi MacIver for the pattern and hope you'll check out her blog at http://www.sandimaciver.com/
Now all of you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend and be safe.
God Bless,
Jeanine

Another day in Bear-o-dise!

I am so excite that I'm on Deedee's Design Team, I'm learning new things everyday and the fellowship between the girls on the design team is wonderful.  All of them are so super talented I'm amazed each day to see their creations with Deedee's Digi's.  Well this is Luau day over at the Crafter's Digital Art Center.  Over on the left is a direct link and there are tons of free digital images being given away along with some great challenges and prizes so take some time to check out the Digital Art Center.
These cards I made are using Deedee's Digi 'What's Shakin'.  I bought colored shells when I was on a cruise several years ago, I must have 500 of these mini's and I love how they look on these cards.  I colored the palm trees and bears with copic's and promise to start keeping track of colors.  I used SU card stock and made inchies with some of the images and used Prima flowers.  Hope you enjoy the cards and join us over at the Crafter's Center here's a quick link: http://priscillastyles.ning.com/group/Deedeesdigis
God bless and have a great day.
