I must apologize

I really need to apologize to everyone A T & T's DSL modem decided to quit on me this weekend and I was having a horrible time trying to get online.

My first card is a cheater card, I ordered stuff from Ellen Hutson's and she always sends this darling 'Thank you 'card with her stuff. So I cut the image out and mounted it like a picture window. I embellished it with some cute little flowers and that was it so "No Thank You Ellen".

My second card is Cocoa and his cup, I'm lovin this little mouse and little story about the Thanks punch...I was shopping at Michael's the other day. I go shopping for my exercise not my wallet, my hip is healing well and I must walk for at least a half hour twice a day so I do the Michael's store as my exercise...works for me!!! Anyway I saw this punch from Martha Stewart on the 75% clearance rack, I grabbed it up and when it came time to check out the girl said 'this isn't clearance price' I said there are about 4 more on the clearance rack you need to check it out so she did and realized their mistake. She brought the other 4 to the register obviously to get them off the clearance rack but she exclaimed that since it was on the rack she would sell it to me for the 75% off. Its a border punch that folds up, Woo Hoo I got a steel!Last card is a simple but easy card made with white SU card stock stamped with Snowflakes in silver metallic. I used Whipper Snapper's stamp mounted it on some old Christmas scraps and silver metallic paper. The cross was colored with Copic's B0000, B12, B14, BV04, B05 and Y38. I love this card its so simple but pretty.

I hope everyone is recovering from the long weekend, my daughter had to work on Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I did Black Friday the first year I lived here. I got up at 3 and drove to Chattanooga I arrived at Best Buy at 4:15 AM and the line was over a block long. My first thought was "Are these people nuts? What are they thinking its cold out here and the store doesn't even open for another hour and a half." I ended up sitting in my car people watching knowing that the laptop computer I was there for was not going to be mine anytime soon. Needless to say there is nothing I need at oh dark thirty to get me out of a warm bed anymore!

Well I have chatted my head off and I need to catch up on emails so ladies and gents (if there are any) remember be safe out there.

God Bless

Black Friday

My Dancing Snowman from Ellen Hudson Stamps I just got him and he is so precious. I love snowmen because you can use them for Christmas and for Jan. Feb. & March because spring doesn't pop up for about 4 months after the Christmas holiday. I bought these plastic snowflakes with blue fuzz at the Dollar tree for 50 cents, and I bought a string of snowflakes for 50 cents. I use the pearly string for embellishments on the cards (necklace, bracelet, ribbon bonus, etc. and then I colored the snowflakes with my Copic's to match some Christmas cards. Yes I'm still making Christmas cards although I have all of mine done, addressed and I always try to send them out on Dec. 6th, because that's 'Daddy's Day' (it was his birthday) and I just like him to know I think of him every day. The dancing snowman card was very simple glued the snowflake on the white card, colored Mr. Snowman with Copic's B21, B41, B0000 and W5 with W3 and a little -O-.
Card #2 is and image I got from my friend Sandy and I love this one. That bear cracks me up the first time I saw this I laughed so hard I cried he's so funny. I used Copic's RV19, RV23, RV000, E50,BG13. I used DCWV designer series paper, some paper flowers and silver ric rak.

Another version of Cocoa in the Cocoa cup. I used SU paper in Old Olive, Real red and lots of DSP, rub on stitches and I colored Cocoa with Copics E57, E33, E30, R81, R29, spica's. These have all been fun to make and what I don't sell at 'Head Gamez' (my beautician's shop) I will recycle to the soldiers for winter cards and different salutations. I sell my cards to pay for more card stock. I have so much stuff and I just continue to make cards but no one wants to buy them they don't understand 'Handmade with Love'. So I sell them for $2.00 each and that keeps me going because I just love to make cards!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Yes this is Thanksgiving Day, a day I count my blessings and remember how much I have to be thankful for. God has so blessed me with a wonderful family, two precious daughters, 7 wonderful grand kids and the opportunity to have travelled a bit in my lifetime. I still want to finish my wish of travelling around the USA but that will be sometime later in my life.I love this little mouse its a digi from SNS that I purchased last week along with the candle. I really like working with the digi's because you can make them any size you need and Sweet n Sassy have some really cute digi's. This one I colored with copic's making the mouse gray with W3 and W1, B21, R11. Some really old scrap pieces of designer paper and real red card stock from SU.
I love this stamp of St. Nick, Santa, aka the good guy. I just used real red, Night of Navy, Kraft and DSP from SU with gold cording. I used Copic's just for the face and snowflakes E50, E51, R11, B0000, Spica's and some white Copic paint. I'll find the stamp tomorrow and then update my blog.

This is a simple little stamp but so perfectly called 'Peace on Earth' with the deer, the rabbit and the cardinal. My DSP is from DCWV and some old SU paper. I love the stitching and the bright green gingham ribbon.
For those that spent the day with family I hope you all took the time to share your many blessings with them. We are celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday this year because my precious daughter had to work a 12 hour shift today at the hospital. She works 7AM to 7PM and we enjoy spending pretty much the whole day together making everything together. I want the kids, Allen, Vicki and hopefully Mom to share the many blessings we have had this past year and through out of lives.
God has been good even though some days I thinks he's really pushed me to my limit, I always seems to make it and thank him for the experience.
May God bless you all.

Just cards

I did a bunch of cards the other day, this candle is a digi I bought from SNS and its so pretty especially with Copics. I learned the ribbon trick from Brenda the SU lady and I sure use it alot.
This is a SU stamp set that I fell in love with and mounted it on white cardstock then Copper specialty paper and copper cording. Very plain and simple but I love the card. I used E29, E31, E37, E50, E51, E71 B34, B000, Y11 & YR24.
This is a special one for me I love the snowman don't I love lots of snowmen but then he's holding up the star and every piece of cardstock is scraps so I have few details.
I received this cross stamp from Whipper Snapper Designs and colored it with Copics then cut it out and mounted it on some Christmas vellum, I used gold cording and an plain white cardstock.
I'm headed out the door for dinner with my daughter and her family but I'll be back later with some more cards to show.
God Bless

34 Days and counting

I'm back into the inchie things. I made this card and if you have extra inchies layin around its a super quick card. I used DCWV premade card I mounted the three inchies onto some DSP from the premade card tablet, then mounted them onto Real Red SU card stock. I had some plastic snowflakes I have no clue where I got them but anyway I mounted that on top of the snowmen that I colored with SU pens.
This card is actually a pre printed tag that I cut the top off of put in some postage stamp 3/4 inch inchies matched it to some SU card stock. It was quick and easy and right now I'm started my own cards so stay tuned I'll be posting more real soon.

35 Days till Christmas

Yep, today I finished all 65 cards for the soldiers and got them in the mail. That sure was a stressful but I made it and I'm really proud of myself. Then I got the other 50 finished to take to the shop, hopefully Joey's customers will buy them all, then I'll have money to buy more card stock for the Winter and Valentine cards I'll be sending in January. The card above is called Snow Angel its a Whipper Snapper Image that I got from my friend and I colored it with Copic's and mounted it on DCWV pre-made card with a couple of snowflake eyelets.
This image I received in the mail and I cannot remember who sent it to me so someone help me. I colored it with Copic's added some baubles and a snowflake eyelet mounted it on Real Red SU card stock. It's late and I left my paper downstairs in the Studio for the Copic colors, I'm sorry if you really want the colors email me and I will get them to you. I'm not feeling good tonight, my hip joint is really bothering me and I can't walk without my cane to support me. So I'm going to hit the sack early. Oh and if you want a smokin deal I got mine in the mail today and its great! HSN had Cuddlebug Christmas folders in a set of 6 for $19.99 wow they have a bunch of stamping and scrapbooking stuff on super sale so might take a look and find a great deal like I did. Have a good weekend.

I just discovered INCHIE'S!!!!!

Wow I'm so excited last night I found the Inchie's sight and went crazy, why don't we have a group around here for the Inchie's? Oh here are my take on these........................ The first one is for my stash of Christmas cards I love it. I used DCWV DSP from the Christmas stack, I used SU Handsome Hunter for my base card and I used a SU set of stamps and a TAC stamp stamping them on a piece of 5 inch white card stock. I then cut them at 1 inch and placed them on this deep deep red card stock that I had in my stash. I used some silver snowflakes to embellish and I was done.

Inchie card #2 is from SU Flakey Friends and I pretty much did the same thing with them except I colored them with SU pens (Gosh did I just say that? My Copic's are upstairs and with the Hip surgery recovery going up stairs is a pain so I used what I had plus I was so excited to be doing these.) I ordered some stuff from Ellen Hutson LLD in chipboard inches and can't wait to get them. Oops got off the subject of the card, well its a pre-made card from DCWV that I bought for the 100 cards I was suppose to make for Christmas card for "Operation Write Home" aka Cards for Heroes. Since I had the surgery I didn't get them done so I'm making Winter cards to send to them. See I did it again got off the subject! Ok I used the pre-made card stamped the images colored them and then cut them into 1 X 1 inchies matted them on a 1 1/2 X 5 inch SU real red card stock, put on the snowflakes and I was done. Love these, oh I have to get back to finishing my cards that have to be sent out by next week. Ok I'm doing sheets today so that means I get to work in my Studio so I'll try to be good.

God Bless

39 Days and so many Cards!

Whoa, back the card train up, I just realized these two cards are the very first ones I made when I started making these cards for the 'Cards for Heroes' project. I used the DCWV pre-made cards added a salutation on white card stock matted it with SU Taken with Teal cs added a SU felt snowflake embellishment and I was done. The criteria for making cards for the soldiers is no glitter (Spica pens are OK), inside must be blank or a small greeting. The cards have lines for the soldiers to write home on and a lot of times all they have is a pencil to write with so they ask that the cards are light inside and have lines. I made a few of these maybe 6 but I just wanted to use up some of those darling snowmen from Whipper Snapper Designs that my friend had sent to me.
This card is called 'Snowpile' and it is from the Whipper Snapper Collection. I put it on SU card stock with DSP from last year. I colored the little guys with Copics I used B0000 for the light coloring of the snow around their feet, then B29, B18, BG0000, E21, E30, E35, E37 and 0 for lighting. I used those Taylor Expressions mini mini gems for the black on their bellies.
I know this is going to get old but again I used the DCWV pre-made cards and put SU Chocolate Chip as the mat for this silly colorful snowman. I used Chocolate chip ribbon and puffed up the snow on his hat. I tried to color the snowman like the stamp looked but my camera isn't getting the lighting right. (Notice I said the camera not me, well I never professed to be a photographer, geez.) I used Copic's and it was a ton of colors: B0000, E37, E30, E79, -0-, YR16, YR24, Y15, Y21, Y26, YR000, G14, G09, YG23, G94, G99, R05, R14, R27.
Well that's it for today I am now in the process of stamping all the cards with the Logo for the Organization and with my name, then I put the lines on the cards or use paper pre-cut for the cards. After that I insert the back side of the card into an envelope, at that point I fill out an inventory sheet for the women to keep track of all the cards I send put it all in a box and ship it off to the girls who put them in big boxes and send them off to the troops. I still have about 40 cards to finish for Joey my hairdresser and about 40 for me to send out and I'll be done, do you think I'll have them all done by Thanksgiving?
God Bless

40 Days and Counting............

Yep, 40 days and its coming fast CHRISTMAS. This is a simple card done with DWVC pre-made card, I matted my snowman with Navy then put black mini gems on his jacket for the buttons. I used liquid stuff I can't think of the name but I forgot to heat it up so that it puffs up. Geez its horrible when your so old, I used some fluorescent cording and I just love the salutation on the card 'Will work for freezer space!'

Is this not cute, I made a copy of the snowman then I reduced the size, punched out the hole in this DVWC pre-made card put the snowman inside mounted on a small mat and what a darling card. I know you can't see the mini gems I put on the top 4 rows but if you compare the rows you will see the difference. So that's my two cards for the day, oh did I tell you I got into the crawl space and found my Christmas stuff. Yep I bet I found tons of stuff and images geez I got another 75 or more of Christmas stuff. I couldn't sleep last night so I finished some of my other cards till 4 AM and I went down there today after brunch and played for another 4 hours. I have so many cards to show you, oh but who is that who is YOU? Comments are greatly appreciated.

God Bless

42 Days till Christmas

Yep, I'm really goin great guns putting these Christmas cards together. I usually send my cards out the first week of December. This is a Hero Arts image that was sent to me by Sandy in W. Virginia. I used the DCWV pre-made card put brown ribbon on it with a pink top note die that I put through the Snowflake cuddle bug folder. Then I used a little co-ordinating paper to back the image and waaaa laaaa! Of coarse I used Copic's to color the image but shame on me I didn't write down the colors. Well that's a lie, I usually color the images and write down the Copic colors on the back of the image, well I glued it down before I copied the numbers down. Don't ya just hate those Senior Moments?

Well I'm off to the Studio to get busy, I may even dig out my Christmas tub in the crawl space today, or move some branches from the yard since its suppose to be 70 today. Woo hoo 70 in SE Tennessee now that's 'Livin the Loco' .

It's startin to look a bit like Christmas

Well here we are just 44 days from Christmas and I don't have a single gift bought, I think I'm in trouble! I'm working diligently on my 'Cards for the Heroes' although they are now Snowmen and the salutations are: Thinking of you or Just for you. It's almost to late to get Christmas cards out to them so I need to stop that and get my cards made so I can get them addressed and out in the mail.
This image I got in the mail and I put it on the DCWV card sets. I used Chocolate chip ribbon and card stock to accent the image and a cute chipboard button with I accented with mini gems. Of coarse I used Copic's to color the image that I think is from Whipper Snapper. Here's a list of Copics: R59, R37, R000, B000, Y21, Y32, Y00 AND YR68.
Why am I doing this blog? To show off my cards that I think are pretty good, yes that could be the answer but I'm not getting to anyone because I just don't get any comments except for my loyal three Becky, Deedee, & Sandy. I put the counter on my blog because I felt if I wasn't getting any hit or lookers why do it. Well I'm frustrated and I really don't know what to do so if anyone has any ideas pretty please let me know. HOW DO I ATTRACT PEOPLE TO MY BLOG? Can anyone tell me please?

Turkey Time

You thought I forgot Thanksgiving Day? Nope, thanks to my friend Sandy in Virginia who sent me these images of Tom the Turkey, High Hopes Stamp Co. I used 'To the Nines' SU DSP paper, SU Kraft card stock, Brown gems an grosgrain ribbon for the Vegan card.
I colored the image with Copics and Spica pens BG32, B000, Y21, Y32, E33, E30, E35.
Turkey Run was done on Close to Cocoa SU card stock, 'To the Nines'
SU DSP dark brown eyelets and lots of Copic's and Spica pens: BG32, B000, Y21, Y32, E19, E29, E30, E33, E35, W3,W5,W7, B18, B39,YR02.
For my third card I used one of the 100 I bought from Michael's for the "Cards for Heroes" project. These cards come with the envelopes and they are textured and lovely colors which are non traditional for the holidays but I enjoyed working with all of these. Again I used Copic and Spica pens all of the above and had a great time.
Tune in tomorrow for the first of my Christmas cards and Card's for Heroes I had a blast making these and have about 12 different designs so this should be a great next few weeks showing off my designs. I'm loving it and thank you all for challenging me to do this blog! God Bless

Busy Day

Hello everyone, today I set up an assembly line to get these cards off to the soldiers or 'Cards for Heroes'. My daughter was with me and we decided together to do the 100 cards for the soldiers heck fire last year I made 500 cards to be sent in individual boxes from the people of Cleveland. Well I've been doing copic coloring for days and yesterday I worked on layering the images and the salutations. I bought pre-made card stock with envelopes so I'm ahead of the game with that. I have to make the ribbon choices and then put them all together but I'm excited about the cards. I have a friend who loves the Whipper Snapper snowmen and she has all of them so she sent me about 40 images that I have been coloring for weeks. Tomorrow I will be putting the cards together and I promise to post them one or two at a time.
Then I went and got my hair cut and Joey asked me for Christmas cards. I have a basket in his shop and he sells my cards. He says they sell themselves and Joey said everyone is asking for Christmas cards. So I'm trying to dig out my Christmas stuff but it's in the crawl space and I can't get to it but I will soon.
Update on my hip replacement: I walk as much as I can and do the exercises that PT gave me. I walk with the cane and half the time I get up and forget the cane but halfway through my trip to the kitchen or potty I realize oops should of grabbed the cane. Some days I walk great like nothing ever happened other days I limp bad. Oh well 4 weeks out of surgery and I'm walking and I haven't taken a pain pill in over 2 1/2 weeks. I think things are going real well.
Everyone get busy do you believe Christmas is less than 6 weeks away? That can't possibly be true!!! I haven't even started shopping yet Internet shopping here I come.
Take care everyone, God Bless.

I GOT INKY FINGERS

Yep today I went downstairs and started some laundry and just couldn't stop myself from going into my favorite place in the world. I could of straightened up the place but I just couldn't wait to ink up some stamps and then use my Copic's to finish them up.
My first card I used Old Olive cs, SU felt flower, rhinestone, paper is from Michaels Dollar spot called Pink Paisley LLC and that is also they website name. Then I used Copics R81, YG95 & E37 to color the cute Stamp Set 'Fueled by Coffee" from the Craft Lounge. Its fun to color and then put the card together.
This last card is also on Old Olive cs from SU then I used this textured from Sizzex Company a little Real Read and Close to Cocoa SU paper for the corners. The Stamp set is "You know you're old when" from Gina K. Designs and I colored the old guy with Y18, Y21, C5, R27, E30, E31, E50, E57 Copics.

Not my best work but I was just so happy to be able to sit down there and working on some cards. I'll get my groove on pretty soon once I start feelin better. Take care everyone and know God loves you!

Thank You

I still haven't made it down into my studio so I decided to show off some of the beautiful cards I've received in the past few weeks. This first one was made by Robin O. (TS)its a perfect card with the SU Top note die. Cute idea and it brought a smile to my face.
The next two cards are from Steph S. (TS) and Debi N. what a cute idea with the Thinking of you stamp and punch outs very pretty thank you Steph. Then Debi what an adorable Magnolia stamp and I love the paper and the button is precious. The salutation is cute, one I will have to remember. Thank you girls for all the kind words also.

Nancy W.(TS) and Micki H. made the above cards. Nancy has pretty glitter inside the flowers and 3-D flowers, red is a favorite color of mine so both girls get points. Micki's card is way to cute I love the paper she used and the giant eyelet and button. The dinosaur is precious tell me the stamp company please!
This pretty turquoise card is from Michelle H. with such darling little flowers in 3-D she's a SU demo and makes some of the best cards. Next is Deedee A. card with my much loved pink & brown combo it is so cute. I love the scroll work, the buttons, and the stamp image is too cute. I've been looking for a die of the scroll share please.

House Mouse is the cutest if you can call a Mouse cute. These cards are made by Becky P. and Janet J. I love both of them and the colors are so cute I always forget to use the corner punches but you girls made darling cards and your notes inside made me smile.

Next are Allison P. and Marilyn P. both Tennessee Stampers and they've been stamping for many years. I like the use of ribbon on Allison's card tying in all the elements and Marilyn's punch border, the back ground is amazing with such fall colors. This is my favorite time of the year with the leaves turning such beautiful vibrant colors. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you ladies for all your well wishes and beautiful cards. It amazes me that out of eleven cards they are so different yet each brings the same well wishes. Thank you pretty ladies for your friendship, for your well wishes and especially for being so thoughtful.
God Bless.
