Everlasting Light

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  I love candles so this candle image from SNS, designed by  Leah Cornelius is perfect for alot of my Christmas cards this year.   I bought these cute red cards years ago and found them the other day so other than coloring the image with Copic's then matting the digital image I didn't do much but add a snowflake.  The Snowflake is my big find at Dollar Tree they are called Darice and their found in the Christmas decorations.  These glitter ornaments come 12 in a package for a buck can you beat a deal like that?
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.
God Bless,

More Christmas

I have so much fun making the SU Top Note quilt and this one was no different.  I used an assortment of papers for this SU Gold and DCWV, I used scraps of paper that I ran through the cuddlebug.  Then I added Tilda whom I colored with Copic's added two metal embellishments and I was done.

The Blog Hop winner for my blog is Glitterbabe (Steph H) if you will contact Deedee at amiste@sonic.net she will get your gift out to you immediately.

I took a bad fall last night and am not moving to well right now.  I'm doing tons of bed rest and water hopefully I'll feel great when I leave for Arizona on Saturday.  Have a wonderful week.

'It's better to give than receive'

Welcome to the Blog Hop where I promise you will see some of the cutest ideas, greatest cards and projects all with digitals from Deedee's Digi's.  I'm so proud to be a part of this design team and to call each one of the girls friend.   My first project is 'Magic Reindeer Food',  I made up the topper using white confetti cardstock printed my verse then ran the cardstock back through the printer to print the image.  I colored the image with Copic's and then attached a pre-made snowflake.  The Reindeer Food is  oatmeal, some cookie decorations and glitter.   I never had much luck with sprinkling it in Arizona the ground was quite dry and Phoenix had little snow but I think it would be adorable to make markings in the snow and watch the glow on little childrens faces when they discover reindeer prints in the snow.
My second project is just plain fun for co-workers, neighbors, brother, sister.  It's snowmen poop!  Actually its mini marshmellows and I printed off the verse first on white cardstock, then I ran it back through the printer and printed the Snowman.  Then I colored my favorite snowman from Deedee's Digi's with Copic's.  These are also great ideas for Craft Fairs, I usually sell 30-40 of each.

Magnolia Christmas

I received this Magnolia image from Sandy a year back and decided to color (Copic's) all of them up and use them for my Christmas cards this year.  With all my family and stamping friends I'll be making about 50 cards this year.  I'm trying to use up all my SU retired stuff but Christmas makes it hard since I usually play with the traditional Christmas colors.

This Magnolia is one Real Red card stock from SU with a Kraft color cut out with the Top Note die from SU I colored everything with Copics.   I sprayed the card with Spritzer from Ellen Hutson's.  The Merry Christmas is a eyelet that a got at Michael's last year, a gold star for the top of the tree, some blue snowflakes from Paper Wishes and the red beads heck fire I don't even
remember.  I think all together I made 6 of these cards but each was different in some way or another.  I still have about 20 cards to make and then I plan to start addressing the envelopes within a few days.  I hope you enjoyed my cards today and will come back on Friday to join us on Deedee's Blog Hop.
See you all on Friday, God Bless.

Candle light

This is such a pretty reflection of Christmas, it's like your bringing light to Christmas and in this day and age so many have lost the real meaning of Christmas.  Hopefully this year with the economy the way it is people will realize that Christmas isn't about the gifts it's about what happened on Christmas Eve so many years ago.
I made this card using Chocolate Chip card stock as my base and using DSP to mat the actual image on the card.  I used my Spellbinder dies to cut out the image and then used ribbon from Ellen Hutsons and some sequin ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  Deedee has some beautiful Christmas images and lovely verses or salutations to go with so many of her digital images.  She has over 125 sets available at her online store at
Digitals are so versatile to work with as you can change the size to fit scrap booking, small gift cards or the large 6 X 6 cards.
I hope that you will take the time to realize what or who Christmas is all about.  I don't mean to step on anyone's toes or religion but I do believe if we got back to the basic's maybe we would have that perfect world we all want.  Have a great Sunday.
God Bless,

Boobs & Bras

I bought this set last month during Breast Cancer Awareness month but I believe just because October is over you should stop thinking about women and breast cancer.  This adorable set is from Skipping Stone Designs and I have sent many a card out and receives tons of laughs.  I used SU card stock and DSP glitter paper for the front.  I used SU border punch and their Lacy ribbon which I just love.  I'm going to see how it dies today since I have the whole day to play.
The inside of the card I decorated with the some scrap papers and then added the verse 'They don't care if you're a boob!' Such humor I have I know but I do want them to find the cure to breast cancer and all cancer before I die.  I think its so important especially for our kids, grand kids and all mankind.

Personal journey:  It's been a while since a took a minute to chatter and I have a few things I want to say.  First off thank you Becky for the beautiful card and letter I was extremely touched by what you said.  Secondly I'm slowing trying to except the fact that Mom will never except me nor give me a kind or gentle word, I lived with that since I was a teenager and it will never be resolved.  Once again I've learned that as much as I love my Mother I don't have to like her for all the pain she brought my sister and I.   Charles finally arrived Thursday night after having engine problems and spending boo coo bucks to get the car fixed.  He brought with him Michael his companion and Harry the dog.  Harry is just a year old and wild as can be, being he's still a puppy.   Michael makes Barby dolls into brides, princess's, stunning beautiful dolls.  He hand makes clothes from the inside panties and bra to the gowns, the floral bouquets, jewelery, tiara's or hats and they are breath taking.   Charles is my brother (in law)  an has been for over 50 years.   He was always there for me growing up and he took the best care of my sister Marguerite for 49 years of marriage.   He is so smart and handy, he can figure out how to do anything.  His wisdom is amazing and he is the most gentle spirit I know.   He brought me my sister's Mustard Seed necklace and I will treasure it forever along with this I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,
'Move from Here to There and it will move.  Matthew 17:20
Have a wonderful weekend, God Bless,

Christmas Reindeer

I love this Reindeer stamp from SU, I bought it last year and didn't get to use it but this year I pulled it out to make a few Christmas cards to mail out.   I used SU everything card stock, DSP, lace ribbon, embossing powder and versamark ink.   The ornaments were hanging around and I thought they would look great on this card.
The second and third card are again SU except I used green embossing powder to match the card stock and DSP.  I used brads to anchor the matting but I love this lace from SU and it makes such a cute bow.
I used my Scor-Buddy on this card and can't say enough about the detail it brings to a card.  I  use my Scor-Buddy everyday and I must say it is one of my best purchases.  I tattered the edges of the DSP then matted the Handsome Hunter and white on the card.  I used rhinestones to highlight the corners of this last card and enjoyed making all three of these cards.

My brother in law was suppose to arrive on Sunday night but they had car troubles and $1000 and 3 nights later he is back on the road and heading here.  So if I'm a little quiet in the next few days its because I have company.   I will be working on my Blog hop project in the next few days.  Hope all of you will join us when Deedee's Digi's has a great Hop on November 19th.  Until then remember to 'Play it forward'.  Have a great rest of the week.

Little Inchies for Christmas

I love making Inchies, its a great way to use scraps and still its easy to put a card together.   These Inchies are actually stickers that I've had forever.  I used SU cardstock and DCWV DSP.
I used a Spritzer of white on the green card but it only shows up at the top.  The red ribbon is from SU and I'm finally making time to make my Christmas cards.  I was busy trying to finish up my 100 cards for the OWH group, if you notice on my sidebar there is a button for helping OWH.  The group is trying to win $50,000 from Joanne's, it sure would help to pay for postage to these soldiers and help out with all the other costly expenses OWH has.  Please try to vote everyday and help out Operation Write Home, one great way to show your support to the soldiers who are fighting for our freedom.
Have a great day and remember to 'Pay it Forward'.  God Bless,

SU Playday Projects

Yesterday was my afternoon of fun with Brenda my SU friend and Consultant we made 3 really cute cards and a ornament.   My first card was suppose to be Vintage looking but I got a little heavy handed on the ink and sponge. The stamp set is SU Bells & Boughs and we used the SU colored pens.  The ribbon is the new seam binding ribbon from SU, actually I don't like it but that's just my choice.  All the cards are made with SU products and SU stamp pads.
This Noel card is made with two SU stamp sets and those pretty pearls, wow they just pop that ornament off the card.  I have so much fun when I go to Stampin UP!  Playday, Brenda is such a hoot and she always keeps you laughing and entertained.
This ornament is made with the new SU 2 1/2 inch circle punch and 8 circles punched out of DSP.  This ornament was a challenge for all of us but I think if you made a few it would come easier it didn't go very easy the first time though.  If anyone is interested in the pattern email me privately and I'll send you some instructions.
Have a good week and know I think your are great!!!

Special little gifts

Is this just the cutest little reindeer you've ever seen?  I'm on the design team for Deedee's digi's and she has made some wonderful Christmas images.   I just love digital images, you can make them any size you want or need.  I used SU cardstock 12 X 4 inches.  I scored the card stock at 4 and 8 inches and used my bone folder to make crisp edges.   I cut the end on the diagonal and then decorated the card.
On the inside you can write a thank you note and decorate any way you'd like.  I used gourmet coffee packs and put a reindeer sticker on the inside. These would be great for teachers, co-workers, neighbors, card club members or just make some and when your shopping hand them out to the person that looks the most stressed.

This red card is also a digital from Deedee's digitals and I shrunk to an inchie size and matted it and mounted it on SU card stock.  I colored all of the digitals with Copic's.  I attached a ribbon in the back with ribbon glue and tied a bow to hold it together.  I added mini gems to perk it up a little oh the red samples are 3 X 3 when done so I used a piece of cardstock 3 X 9 and scored it at 3 and 6 inches.   These are so super simple to make and you can use
tea bags, candy, drink packets the ideas are endless.  I hope this helps some of you that are trying to figure out what to do for that special someone.  Remember its the thought that counts and in these times that's the most important thing to remember.

Happy Freezin season!

I love these snowmen from SU, I actually messed up and punched out the wrong circle so my pop up circle doesn't show very well.  I colored my snowmen with Copic's and used a saying from Deedee's digi's.  I made 50 cards for Operation Write Home with Snowmen yesterday and today.  I had pre-colored the images and put them together today.  The time limit for Christmas cards are over but I really don't make many Christmas cards or Thanksgiving cards because I make mostly 'Thinking of You', 'I miss you Son', 'I miss you Princess',  'Thoughts of you', 'Happy Birthday', 'Miss You'.   As a matter of fact OWH has asked that we notify of friends that they are working on Valentine's Day cards now.  I just can't do that since I haven't seen Thanksgiving yet let alone Christmas.  So I just keep making these 'Thoughts of you' or 'Missing You cards'.  Most of my cards are a white base so that they can write inside the card with a pencil which is usually the only writing instrument they have.  If I make the card a dark color I insert a white piece of paper inside the card 5 1/4 X 4 so the soldiers can write on it.  They totally prefer no salutation inside the card because they want to use it for writing home.   I still have about 23 cards to make to finish my quota for the month with OWH then I'll start on my personal Christmas cards to mail out the first of December.  So the week is new and I need to work on a few special cards, here's wishing you all a wonderful week.
God Bless,
Jeanine
