Praise God for all things

One week ago today my precious, beautiful, wonderful daughter had a stroke. Vicki is 40 years young and was at work in Sky Ridge Medical Women's Center when it hit. She was tired she said and had a headache so she went to the back of the nurses desk into their kitchen to get a drink and take some aspirin. Fortunately one of the girls asked her a question and when she looked at Vicki she saw her mouth drooping and heard the slurred speech. The girls immediately called for a wheelchair and rushed her to ER. I was notified about 2 hours later to come to the ER by my granddaughter. They were air-vacking her to Erlanger since SKMC wasn't equip to treat her. Erlanger notified us she had a blood clot on her right side of her brain and they had the Mercer wand and wanted permission to remove the clot from her brain. By this time it had been over three hours that she had gone without oxygen to that part of the brain and permanent paralysis sets in. They didn't give her much chance for survival but Praise the Lord and all that were praying for her Dr. Lloyd performed gloriously and removed the clot. She had two stints put in her aorta from tears but she was clot free and they said it was a matter of her waking up and what type of paralysis she would have.
Fast forward one week and many Ultra sounds, EKG's, blood tests and tears she is on the mend although they still don't know what caused it. She is still in Neuroscience ICU and on bed rest, she has all her movement and control back with an exception of a little draw down on her mouth but other than that she will recover 100%. Her husband Allen, her three children Justin 21, Ryan 19, Lindsey 17, and me have spent our time in the ICU waiting room. Tuesday the kids resumed school and work so they haven't seen Mom but I've gone each day to the only 3 scheduled visits they allow. I'm sure she's tired of seeing me but like I told her I brought her into this world so.........
My blog, my life and my goals were all put on hold while my precious daughter fought for her life. Never in my wildest dreams did I every expect this to happen to my healthy, bright and beautiful daughter but it did and my world collapsed. Now we take one day at a time as the doctor says there is a 75% chance of her having another stroke within the next six months. My heart goes out to anyone that has been through something like this, my friend Debi I thought of you often while I sat and waited to hear good news about Vicki. I pray all is well with Dave and that your both doing well since his quad droople bi-pass. I will get back into making cards and using my Copics as soon as Vicki is home and we have answers.
I want to say thank you to each and everyone of you that prayed for Vicki and I must absolutely thank my God above for his love and for the strength he gave me to make it through the past week. Thank all of you for letting me ramble this has been a hard week but the sun is shining and God has answered my prayers so I will get back to living now and thanking everyone for so much love.
God Bless you all.
