Welcome to my little world of cards. If your here for the 'Operation Write Home' Blog Hop you've come to the right place. I so love making cards and paying tribute to all our military personnel everywhere around the world. This Blog hop is to bring awareness to our men and women in the military and all that they do for us. I personally make cards for "Operation Write Home" because its my little way of showing that I really am proud of our soldiers and our wonderful country we live in. If you don't do anything else this beautiful weekend take time to pay tribute to all those military people.
Our challenge was to make a red, white and blue card any design so my top card is a digi 'Leap of Faith' from my friend Deedee. I used SU card stock and Francis Meyer DSP,Prima flowers, gems and ribbon. Deedee just opened her digi store and I hope you'll all take the time to visit her http://www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com/
Now take a minute to see the Easle card tutorial and
then sign up for Blog Candy!!!
Now I love Easel cards, our cards were meant to be displayed and what a perfect way to show them off. So today I'll show you how to make this darling Easel card in 5 easy steps:
Supplies: One 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" card stock
One 5 1/2" X 4 1/4" piece card stock
One 5 1/2" X 1 1/4" piece card stock
Scoring tool
Stamps
Added card stock for inside of card
Embellishments
Step 1) Score your 5 1/2 X 8 1/2" cs @ 4 1/4" and 2 1/8"
Step 1) Score your 5 1/2 X 8 1/2" cs @ 4 1/4" and 2 1/8"
Step 2) Decorate the inside of the card and the bottom part of the card that will hold the top standing up.
Step 3) decorate the front of your card (your 5 1/2" X 4 1/4"cs).
Previously I made some water colored roses using the SU Fifth Avenue Floral and used them for the front of my card, then I added some Coral Pink ribbon and a bow to finish off the front.
Step 4) Glue the front of the card to the small 2 1/8" piece. If you get confused look at the photo below. The 5 1/2" X 2 1/8" is where you glue the top of your card and yes it's only glued half way.
Step 5) Put in your verse if you haven't already and any embellishments and your finished. As you can see with the photo I popped the rose up and used a large button as the stopper.
Step 5) Put in your verse if you haven't already and any embellishments and your finished. As you can see with the photo I popped the rose up and used a large button as the stopper.
Now that we're done with the tutorial if you have any questions please email me at: azgramtn@bellsouth.net and I'll get back with you. Now how about some Blog Candy? I'll put together a small package of goodies to one lucky winner. Just post a comment and on Monday I'll draw a winner in the early evening.
Thanks for stopping by and now continue on the Blog Hop to see Susan at http://salondarte.blogspot.com/
Have a great day and a wonderful safe weekend.
God Bless,
