Puppy Love

Who can resist a puppy or a cupcake? That's why I volunteer at ARK of Cleveland but golly its hard when a special puppy is there waiting to be adopted. Anyway I received this image from a friend and colored it with Copic's YG13, R27, R29, Booo, E31 & E35. Then I mounted it on MM DSP and layered it with SU Sage. I used CK sticky ribbon and the DSP in the top left hand corner has glitter and I used stickles on the cherry. Don't you just love stickles it sure brings dimension to your cards.

Well I'm getting another tutorial going and I will be posting it in a few weeks, I learned it from a friend at a our Tennessee Stampers retreat.
Have a great day tomorrow, I'm going to play with all my new goodies I got at Hobby Lobby today.

Thank you

I was selected by SNS to be the featured artist of the week and I can't say thank you enough to them. I so enjoy making cards and using all the different brands of stamps. I used Copic's on this teddy bear: G05, W00, W1, R05 and R81. I think I use E31, E33, E35 the most out of all my pens so I made Teddy gray and used Spica pens to highlight the flowers. My DSP is Making Memories.

I hope you all have a good week, it sounds like we're going to have some sun and some warm weather won't it be heavenly?

Fun SNS Digi Images

This is the card I made for the Thursday Digi challenge but for some reason I can't post it so I said fine, I'll just post it and let you know I colored the SNS Digi image with Copic's, I used Making Memories Cosmopolitan DSP, and SU's round stamp. I just love this paper and the bunny is so cute holding the tulips. What a great way to start the weekend.

I did this SNS digi card quite a while ago but thought I would bring it back because I think it is so pretty.
Well I'm going to take the weekend off and do some reading. I started reading 'A single thread' by Marie Bostwick yesterday and its really grabbed my attention. I wish you a wonderful weekend, God Bless you.

Bunny & Friend

This was another SNS Digi Image I colored with Copic's. I used G14, YG09, Y38, Y06, Y15, Y00, R81, V12, V15, E000 E0000 and some Spica's. I used K & Company Dollhouse DSP by Brenda Walton, the new SU border punch and a miscellaneous purple flower to match the bow on the bunny. These images are easy to color and so fun to try different effects with. Think I may try some pencils next always gotta keep your options open.
Have a great week, God Bless,

OWH Spring Blog Hop March 20th, 2010

Well hello to everyone! This is my first Operation Write Home Blog hop so I hope you will bear with me. I am going to do my first tutorial on the Stampin UP! Top Note quilt card. I am not affiliated in any way with SU but I love a lot of the products. I have been with OWH for over six months and have made at least 300 cards for the soldiers. I have no family in the military but I was inspired from all the stories I've heard about the soldiers having little time to write home. Since I'm retired and a caretaker for my 91 year old Mother I have time to make lots of cards and I so enjoy making cards each and every day.

So today I'm going to do a tutorial on the SU Top Note Quilt card. This can easily adapted to all of the Spellbinder dies also.

I start out by picking out paper that coordinates with my card stock. I find it easier to cut strips of DSP then cut them to 1" squares. I have a punch but its uses more paper and I think cutting strips is faster.

You need 20 squares for the completed Top Note make sure you piece it out before you glue it all down.

I know that it takes four squares up and five across so I try to line up the 1" squares with the notches so all the squares will be even on the cut.

I then put the quilt on the Top Note die and run it through the Big Shot.

As you can see the quilts come out pretty even if you match it up with the die cut outline.
Last step is to finish your card I used a Martha Stewart boarder punch, a computer generated greeting and SU ribbon.
Inside the card I used some of the Marcella K DSP and the large scallop Marvy punch with a Gina K design "Quilt Sampler" You can scroll down in my blog and see all the quilt cards I've made. Each time you make one its so different with colors and patterns you will find yourself returning to this pattern time and time again for the versatility of the card. If you need to contact me please email me at: AZGramTN@bellsouth.net

If you enjoyed the tutorial or my blog please leave a comment and at the end of the blog I will draw a name for some Blog Candy.
If you didn't start the Blog Hop at http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org/
you should go there now. Otherwise move onto your next stop in the OWH Blog Hop at Jann's, She's Gone Stampin, and the url to link to is http://jans-gonestampin.blogspot.com/
Have a blessed day.

Lean on me

Yep, you can always lean on me. People say I have a huge heart and big shoulders maybe that's why I was a Critical Incident counselor for 15 years with the Police Department before I retired. I love people and I was always there for anyone that needed to talk. Some of the things you see while on patrol, it stays with you forever so you need to get it off your chest and know that your not the only one dealing with it. I have tons of acquaintances but only a few true friends, its takes a special person to be a true friend. Do you have what it takes to be that special friend? Everyone needs a true friend to Lean on.

God Bless,

Rainy my baby!

Rainy is my baby and he is so lovable when he can get close to me. Moe the Mexican hot dog is so jealous he'll jump off the couch with Mom to chase Rainy away from me. Rainy will sneak up on the bed about 2 AM and tap me on the cheek to let me know he wants to cuddle.
I've had a busy week and I've made over 40 cards most of them Quilt cards for Operation Write Home. We're having a Blog Hop on the 20th of March hopefully you'll all stop by and check us out. Ok I will take pictures tomorrow and do a big post!
God bless you all and have a wonderful weekend.

I want to make another 50 cards for 'Operation Write Home', as a matter of fact their having a blog hop on March 20th. Great Job You're my Star!

Talk about a quick card these were so easy to make because I had the card stock already cut the Spellbinder circles pre-made and the actually sports gear were from Michael's who had them on sale for 49 cents. Yep I did the salutations on the computer, so maybe I spent 60 cents on the
cards and they are just darling. I have to laugh on this hockey one it had two pucks and it flew off the paper and I couldn't find it anywhere. Low

behold I found it at dinner on the cuff of my sweatshirt. But I think these
cards are just the encouragement our kids need now a days, just a little attention goes a long ways.

Irish you luck!

Yep this is my take on a Leprechaun's home since he lives in a treeThe 1 inch extra green on the left is so you can use a bind it all and make our ATC's into a mini book. I used the cuddle bug to made it look like bark on the dark brown. For the roof I used another cuddle bug folder to make the roof look like shingles. I had some grass stickers and cut the double doors which I used mini gems for the door handles. I used my Whipper Snapper stamp colored it then shrunk it in my printer so that I could make them fit into the 1 inch doorway. I had a ball making these and hope the girls in the ATC swap enjoy them also.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Top Note Quilt Cards

Well I went to Michael's and Hobby Lobby looking for St. Patricks goodies.....nothing but shamrocks. So after 3 hours of looking so hard and checking out all the stickers, card stock and of coarse stamps I had to leave but hark I bought a few things so all wasn't lost. Woe is me it was a wonderful afternoon!

Once I got home I finished off my quilt cards, I love making these and its such a great way to use up your scraps. These little gems are headed to the soldiers in Iraq and elsewhere.
You know I love pink and brown so I enjoyed making this one.
I thought this was a masculine with the browns and beige's.
I pretty much used SU cardstock and ribbons, punches, Top Note die, and a little stamp set of greetings. Hope you enjoy these as I'm behind on my cards to the troops and need to get busy with them after I finish my swaps. I think I told you I was in three swaps what was I thinking? Well the business cards are done and I guess I didn't take a picture of the finished ones but they are in the mail. I did a card swap with some friends and that is due on the 23rd (they are done). Now the last one well its really cute its a ATC Leprechaun home that we will bind together to make a mini book. I have it 75% done but I'm still got a little to them, I work well under pressure.

Have a wonderful weekend ladies, they say its suppose to be sunny and in the 60's, perfect weather for me I love it just a wee bit cool and sunny.

God Bless,

Jeanine

Sun catcher & Snow

Yep that's the remnants of our snow yesterday when we got 2 inches and it snowed all day, I took my sun catcher that the sun had faded to nothing and put my Copic's to good use. It looks brand new I love cardinals since living in Arizona we don't have many birds so when I moved here I was spell bound watching them. Anyway at the end of my drive I have morning glory's that crawl up the post onto the mailbox and by June its so beautiful. So I didn't make a card but I did use my precious Copic's and love the results.

In like a Lion.......Out like a lamb

Well they say In like a Lion (it snowed here from 4 AM till 2PM) we got about 2 inches of snow and then it was rain. So March 2 shows me it came in like a roar and it will be ending a beautiful spring day. I sure hope so I am so tired of this weather, its so gloomy and nasty. Needless to say I just played a slug all day made this inchie card (simple simple), then used my Copic's to color my capri shell thingie I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and post it. Just don't feel like doing much: not into reading, coloring, I so thought I would get a rise out of someone when I made the Tess Design book, not a word. I feel like I'm talking to myself here and I know thats not true because of the hit meter but hey who am I anyway?
Tomorrow I need to work on a couple swaps I got into, I finished one today but haven't figured out what to do about the ATC swap yet.
Have a good evening friends, God Bless.
