Now my travel partner might not like this picture (she in the right corner) but I was going over my photo's of New York City and I was cropping them so I could get them sent off for developing when I found this picture and I still don't believe no-one in our group of 52 noticed him until I discovered this picture. It was rainy and cold and we were in Time Square that very first night and I was so mesmerized I was just spinning around and taking pictures like crazy. Who would have thunk the Naked Cowboy would show his back to us. I still can't believe I got to see New York again and fulfill a long dream of returning there. I no this has nothing to do with crafting but hey it's the weekend so I'm just relaxing. I planned to head downstairs today but it keeps snowing on and off so I'm planted by the window watching God's miracles at work.

actually I'm getting a little nervous since I haven't heard from her.

Anyway I'm really proud of the pages and hope that she loves them also.

So what are your plans for the weekend? Planning on doing something really special or just hanging out, I've heard from several of my friends how they plan to go away for the weekend as a early Valentine gift, we'll I never got lucky enough to find that special someone to love forever and ever but I know love and I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.

New Day

I've been quite busy making 2 page layouts for a lady in Iowa. She saw my greeting cards and asked if I could do scrapbook pages. Since thats how I got started some 10 years ago with my friend doing Creating Memories. I agreed to make a few and then had so much fun I didn't want to quit. I'm really lucky that I just have to pick a color palette and the ideas start coming. The first layout is a communion , then I moved

on to a couple of Christmas pages. I actually am doing pages for two young ladies that are 12 and 6 one is sportz the other a princess.Needless to say I have been really busy making layouts and just mailed them off on Monday. I can't wait to hear from Cammie and see why she

thinks of my ideas. Hopefully she'll love them and I'll be thrilled.

Other than working on these (I'll post more tomorrow) I've been doing alot of reading James Patterson. I've been averaging 4 books a week and selling stamp sets on Lista. Hopefully in the next few months I'll have weather for garage sales and I'll get all this stuff moved out of here. I'd love to sell the house and move to an apartment or loft that I don't have to worry about yard work. That way when I take a trip I don't have to worry about leaving the house empty. Well I need to get some cleaning and laundry done so keep smiling it sure makes people wonder.

Another Day

This is an image from Doodle Pantry call Noah's Ark geez would have guessed it. I think Doodle Pantry is my favorite place to look for digital images, their realiztic yet adorable. I'm trying to use up tons of my stuff so I can get rid of goodies and buy some new stamps, actually I'm thinking about going into Stampin UP again since I always liked the concept of having a full stamp set to work with. So if you want to go to Lista under Arts & Crafts I am putting up about 30 of my old retired SU set for points. If you want to set up and account I'll give you points to start bidding just ask me for an invite and I'll set you up.

No excuses!

I've been bad and I have no excuse. For a long time I was feeling pretty lost and Christmas usually does that to me, I know I should be happy but I just couldn't get there this year and therefore I shut down and now I'm trying to climb out. When I feel like I'm needed or even wanted I know I can go on I just feel so sad to think what is happening to Christmas and our relationship with God. I won't get on a bandwagon, I believe that you choose your own faith and believe to me Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran or Buddhism is believing in one God.
Wow that was prolific now just shut my mouth and go on I say.
I am slowing working my way down to the studio I'm just buried in there with papers and punches and everything else so I started getting rid of alot of stuff on Lista. I wanted to have a garage sale this past fall but due to construction and weather I never got around to it so instead of waiting I have been doing some cleaning up through Lista.com check it out and tell em I sent ya.
I've been working on scrapbooks since the middle of January and having fun but I really need to purge some stuff and donate it to the nursing home for craft projects. Well I'll be back with more cards and goodies and I promise to start working harder to be social.

Merry Christmas

Well I completed my number one wish on my Bucket list and make my trip to New York City. It was a dream come true with a little hitch it rained the whole time we were in NYC. It was horrible but God was watching over us because very few got sick from all the soaked clothes and cold rain. In essence we took a bus tour of NYC because we couldn't get out and walk around much. It was so cool to be on Broadway and see the musical 'Mama Mia', then see Time Square all lit up I was in awe the whole trip just kept pinching myself to see if it was real. We got soaked on the ferry trip to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty but it was so surreal. The above picture is of the tree at Rockefeller Center, I think everyone should go to NYC at least once in their life to see the amazing sights.

Now for the most amazing thing that happened! The 911 Memorial is still under construction along with the towers but this was a special part of my trip because I've worn a 911 ring for almost 10 years as a remembrance of the lives lost. The above photo is of the South Pool and although it was pouring down rain I got this awesome photo of the depth this pool is. Here's my epiphany: After being at the Memorial park and walking all around to the museum, the North and South pools and shaking hands with all the officers that were on duty there I listened to the 911 host talk about the Survivor Tree. Then our group dispersed and was told to meet at the exit in 30 to exit. I walked up to the South Pool bent down and put my hands in the water. I said a short prayer for all the victims and survivors then stood up to see the name 'Maynard' lite on the marble. For those of you who don't know Maynard is my maiden name so to see it was just shocking. I stood there and started to cry, then I turned and found the 911 host right behind me. I explained what just happened and he asked if I wanted a crayon marking of the name. Well I did of course and we huddled around the area in the rain and he showed me how to crayon it. I then hugged him and went to the exit to await my group. Long story short after introducing myself to the 8 officers and security I waited for over 30 minutes and never saw one person of the 51 from my group. To make a long story short security came up to me and asked if I was Jeanine DuBose after acknowledging it he escorted me down the ramp and out of the Memorial to meet up with the tour leader. Nancy exclaimed 'I'm so happy to see you I thought something had happened to you I thought you'd gotten lost.' I said 'Lost I'm not lost I was waiting for you right where you said to meet'. She said they did a head count and thought everyone was there until they got on the bus and my roommate spoke up and said I was missing. Well I'm fine I'm sorry someone couldn't count right and I'm sorry I caused so much commotion but really I was never lost. I have since come home and researched Keithroy Maynard to find out he was a 33 year old Firefighter lost in the rescue. This was such a awesome trip and I was thrilled to have fulfilled my lifelong dream of going back to NYC.

Thankful for

It's the day before Thanksgiving and Jake is busy watching me in the kitchen preparing part of the feast. My daughter works tomorrow at the womens center at the hospital so we have to do Thanksgiving a day early. Thats ok being together is what's important to me and anytime I can get with my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids is a thankful day. Wish I could get to Phoenix to see the other daughter and her family but that will have to wait until January. Anyway I got this cat seat at Amazon for 12 dollars and except for being in the sunroom this is his second favorite place (love the bird action).

Tilda and the Frog

This is another of my Operation Write Home cards that I made. Actually I colored this with Copics and then made up one afternoon. Pretty purples, pinks and browns and I actually can't remember where I got the paper. I need to clean up my craft room and donate some of my stuff to a nursing home or somewhere I have way to much stuff but don't we all. Today I was down there and I found a Gypsy cord that I've been looking for for 3 months (Nelda you still need it?) Geez I really need to quit buying and start using this stuff. I did make several Thanksgiving Day cards today and have to go in the crawl space for the Christmas stamps tomorrow. I haven't made one Christmas card yet this year guess I need to get busy something I can't seem to do. I did finish James Patterson book 1 of the Womens Murder Club tonight on to book 2 tomorrow.

Good morning and welcome to another crazy day. Hope its not raining by you or no tornado watches out, I'm completely done with tornado's.
I want to see a little sunshine and I want to get big into making my Christmas cards which means I have to get in the crawl space and retreive my Christmas plastic tub with all the stamps and embellishments that in itself will stop me from making cards! Well this image is from 'Fred she said' and it was pre-colored so just putting it on some SU cardstock and DSP was a breeze. I used my scallop cutter and added some ribbon and I was all done yet it looks like I took half a day. Girls enjoy your weekend and know I'm think of you!!!! Jeanine

I love these little Santa cards that Jeanna made and they look pretty easy to make guess I'll try some for Christmas cards. It's been raining here 24/7 and I hate going in the basement so I'm looking at all the cute ideas that Jeanna Linzer had displayed for sale at her all day crop that I drove over 850 miles to see. We had so much fun for the few days I was there but Jeanna is so multi talented and I wanted to promote her goodies and her website. Cupcake Fever

Well you all know how much I love the looks of cupcakes so here's a couple cupcakes that I've colored over the past few months and their

made into cards for OWH soldiers. I'm so happy the soldiers are coming home and thrilled that we're out of that area I won't get into my opinions but my mere 50 cards that I sent OWH will be enough since they are slowing down a little on all their packages overseas. Do you all remember why we were there because obviously they don't. So many lives lost because so people have such hate in their hearts, I just don't understand it but then who does. I'm honored to have been a part of this mission to help let our troops know we're thinking of them and let them know what their doing matters to us.

Here's another card for the OWH shipment it's a MayBrit Bear that I colored a while ago then I added some pink paper and stretchy ribbon, rhinestones and a darling card to send to a young child or parent. I was happy to hear that OWH is soon going to pair down the cards since the President is bringing home the soldiers in Iraq. I love making these special cards as my way of saying thank you to the soldiers male or female for what they are doing for their country. Each and everyone of us needs to take a minute and say a prayer for all our soldiers and if you have a minute make a card for them, you can either send them to me or to OWH.com. Thanks for making me see I need to think of others which will make my life fuller in the long run.

What a Crop!!!

I had such a wonderful weekend! Here are just a few pictures of some of the wonderful items I got to see at the Stampin Up Crop in Lawrence, Kansas. Yes I left Tennessee on Thursday arrived in Kansas on Friday, after stopping to see my brother in Missouri, then I helped set up for the Crop with Jeanna Linzer and Stephanie Pascue.

I couldn't believe they had Close to my Heart and Creative Memories Rep's there and a massage therapist along with so many make and takes. I loved all the items they made for craft fairs their ideas are fresh, beautiful and such adorable ideas for holidays and birthdays. Jeanna has such a heart for business and she is such a talented woman that her personality speaks volumes of who she really is bringing out the best in everyone.

Stephanie is just so sweet and she has an eye for ideas.....she makes beautiful embellishments for scrapbooking pages and for cards.

This snowman is just one of the 20 items I bought from her darling items. I can't wait to show you her stuff and I really think she needs to put it on Etsy. I only wish I could come up with half of the ideas she does.

I had a blast making cards and all the Make & Takes we made. I'll have another post tomorrow with lots of pictures and I'll have some websites for you to go find their ideas. I had a great time and although its too much driving for 4 days by myself it was worth it to spend time with these multi talented girls.

Pretty Ballerina

Isn't she adorable? This is a digital image I got and I love to color with Copic's because its so little in detail and it makes me concentrate better. The card is made with SU cardstock and vellum that I ran through a Sizzix folder then cut out the ballerina and popped it with pop dots. I love the sentiment I think hugs are so important and to tell the truth I have quit doing them because of my hyperhydrious. I had the surgery on my facial sweating/head sweating in October of 2010 I had relief from profuse sweating for about 5 days then I noticed I was sweating on my back I called the surgeon and he suggested taking Oxybutynin 3 times a day but that didn't help either so then I tried Sage tea twice a day oh that was just terrorism at its worse. Talk about horrible taste and it didn't do anything so after 30 days I gave up on that. Now I change clothes usually twice a day and deal with it although right now it's not to bad but nervousness brings it on why I would be nervous is beyond me but hey at my old age anything is possible. So those are my woes for the day, I should be back from my trip and settling in so I'll catch you later with another cute card! Stampin hugs, Jeanine

Hidee hoe! Yep I'm still in Kansas but I scheduled these post so you wouldn't think I went into seclusion again. Like I said I love to color so I had plenty of Copic colored images to use when I started putting my cards together. These are for OWH and I have a stack of probably 30 already made up just have to cut the designer paper and matting for the images then glue them together. I adore these little girls with their Sunday dresses and hats, the cardstock is SU and scraps of paper from my bin. Did I tell you I had so many punches in my craft drawer the bottom fell out? I had to take it to get it fixed because I broke the bottom geez can't catch a break anywhere and that isn't a pun either. You'd think after 6 months of being pretty much trapped in my house waiting for work to be completed I would have cleaned my craft room but I sure didn't just continued to buy stuff and let it sit. What a vicious cycle we live in, I wanna hear your thoughts on hording crafting stuff! Have a great weekend and I'll be back Monday with more ideas and stories of my trip.

Thursday Nov. 3rd

It's Thursday and actually I'm on the road headed to a crop in Eudora, Kansas, yep you heard me right I'm going to a cardmaking crop and hope it will get me going again. My dear friend Jeanna Linzer is putting it on with one of her downlines Stephanie, I need to get away and this is what I call fun just getting in the car and going with little or no planning. Moe the dog is at his Bed and Breakfast and Jake is left to fend for himself (it really humbles him when I come home.) This card is super simple and right now super simple is good for me because pushing my creativity is going to take some time.

I ordered some stuff from Jeanna and her Stampin UP catalog so I'll have some new stamps to use, some new cardstock and I'll get to meet some new crafters and have a great time. Be back soon!!!

Sunshine in my life!

OK great start this was suppose to be my first post since July!!!!!

Jake just makes me laugh everyday someway or another and so I'm going to give it a full hearted try to get back in the swing of things and start blogging and making cards. For those of you that don't know the tornado hit my house on April 27, 2011 and on May 16, 2011 I lost my Mother so this past six months has been a real nightmare with very little support from any of the family. I've become a recluse in my home waiting for contractors to start the process. Now I can finally say that the work is all done and I want to move on. I still get up each morning and open my front door to see the market in crumbles on the ground, the Ledfords property overgrown and depressing since the house was torn down, many neighbors are grown with their property for sale and it brings it all back. I know I've been neglecting my blog and my cardmaking because I just can't go back down in my studio.....so since I still color with my Copics I plan on bringing some stuff up and using the kitchen as my temporary studio. Then after running up and down the stairs 20 times a day for things I forgot hopefully I will take it all back to my Studio and get on with life.

Harps and Music

See I told you I would be back 'Oh ye of little faith'. This is a card I made for OWH using spanish greetings. Dixie says she rarely gets any so I try to mail off about 20 with each shipment (although I haven't mailed any of in over 4 months). I'm trying really hard to get back into this because making cards puts such happiness in my heart. I love to be creative and I especially love to inspire others to do the same. I've proposed to myself that I make a schedule of what I need to do each day and that includes hour a day to cleaning, laundry, dishes whatever then at least 30 minutes of Zumba and then at least an hour to cardmaking hopefully I will be back surprising you with fun stuff!

Just when you think......

Nothing can get worse it happens............... Sorry I haven't been around lately waiting on the contractor to get started on the house and I'm so tired of waiting. Tomorrow it will be 90 days since the tornado and the Roofers took over my driveway. Moe and Jake watched as the supplies were brought in and then the rain came after the roof shingles were off

so this is what I got at 5:15 last night. Enough to make a grown woman cry and I was really was really close to just losing it then I remembered that I had a house to live in and a roof over my head where as many families are without homes. So I took a few pictures and moved on with life, it's way to short to worry about the small stuff. Today the contractor's came in and they plan to Kiltz the ceiling and paint it this evening and then their job will be done.

After they leave we have the power washing of the house and then the painting of the house and patio decks. Then Friday they are repairing my ceiling in my bedroom where the tornado damage messed it up. Other than that all when the Four Season Room is finished another chapter of my life will be over and then maybe I can move on.

Hopefully with the repairs done and the start of a new month I'll head down to my Studio and clean it up some. Maybe touching all my supplies and trinkets I'll get my creative groove moving again. Remember to 'Pay it Forward'. Hugs to you all, Jeanine

Welcome Jake

Yep, I couldn't take it anymore I missed Rainy so badly that I've been looking at rescue cats for about a month. I saw Jake a few weeks ago and he was called a Ragdoll Maine Coon cat, he's 14 weeks old and so laid back I crack up each time he lays down for a nap..

Oh Man it's too light in this room, turn out the lights!

Ok if I cross my arms she might think I'm saying my prayers and like me all the more.

Yes this really is my tummy and back legs and me twisted in the middle and going a totally different direction for my head and front feet. This is a normal sleeping position for him he moves his body alot.

Is this not a little angel? He's so calm and agreeable, he sleeps in the bathroom at night and he almost knows it's bedtime. When I open the door he runs out like its the best thing ever to happen.

He covers his ear and cracks me up. His favorite toy is the lazer light from Walmart $2.88 with extra batteries. He has a tiny mouse I got at the dollar store and flips it in the air all the time. He was hand fed so he kneads alot and it hurts with those tiny little sharp toe nails but hey he is such a lover and so cuddly.

Tomorrow he's headed to the vet to be neutered, brought up to date on shots and whatever he needs. He'll be an indoor cat and no way will he go outdoors but I know Rainy is happy I found another cat. I needed something to make me laugh some, I'm still waiting on the repairs for the house and dealing with them is such a hassle. I did color with Copic's this morning but still not in the Studio much. I've lost my desire to create cards and I'm trying so hard to get it back. I love making cards I just don't like going down in the basement anymore the tornado really changed my life and I'm trying really hard to get back to normal. Please bear with me I need my friends.

Just Chick'n in on You

This is a Doodle Pantry digital image along with the cardstock. I downloaded all of it then printed it all out, everything was pre-colored and makes its very easy to make quick cards for any and all venues. This could be a Get Well card, Thinking of you card or pretty much a fun card all around. I know I' ve been really quiet lately but I think I'm getting back on track and realized life goes on. Thank you everyone for the well wishes and the encouragement you've given me. Today I spent six hours in my Studio making cards for Operation Write Home but I haven't mailed any birthday cards like I normally do, it has really been hard to mail over 250 birthday cards a year and have half of them not even acknowledged or recognized so I will now be more selective with the cards I mail. Frogs

This is a digital from Deedee's digi's but she's closed her shop for now. I enjoyed her drawings and I loved how she would use your ideas to make new digi's but with raising kids and supporting a husband who just got back to work every day life took over. I'm sure she's sharing tons of her images with everyone on her blog Stampin Sunshine. I used some SU cardstock and lots of scraps of DSP although I have tons of DSP actually too much to be exact (did I just say that?). Just think the new SU catalog is coming out in just a few days and oh my I'm going to be shopping for a few days.
Personal Journey: I'm still waiting around for the contractor to start on the house they have to put on a new roof, power wash and patch the siding then paint the house completely, repair the redwood porch out front that is missing part of the railing, and my screened in porch on the side is still a total mess. I wanted to make that a 4-season room but I was quoted $10,500 and since the insurance company only sprung for the new screen I'm a little short on funds. Oh well I love sitting out there in the mornings drinking coffee before the temperature gets to unbearable it use to be beautiful with all the old oak trees and birds singing. Now I just have the neigbors houses to look at and the shavings from the trees. I think I'll call in a landscaper and see what he might suggest then I'll ask for the cost. The weather has been so hot lately and the thunder storms so unpredictable I haven't been outside to mow, fix the holes from the trees or anything. I'm just having a good time reading all kinds of books and making a few cards. I know once the house is completed and all this is off my mind I'll be able to settle into a routine. Until then I just take it day by day.

Granny's birthday wishes

Well I got some time today to make up some cards for my OWH stash. These were pre-colored months ago by me then I matched up my SU cardstock with scraps of DSP and put them all together with matching ribbons. So now my count is up to 68 cards hopefully with the rest of the weekend I can make my quota.

Happy Birthday

Hi there, it's been a few days but I finished up this pre colored digital from Dustin Pike. It was a super simple card that pretty much took no stamping just a little glue and red ric rak.

I took a trip with the Senior Circle to Stone Mountain Park in Georgia where we spent the night (beautiful lodge) and then the next day we took a tour of CNN studio's. It was a fun trip with 49 other Seniors from the age of 54 to 92 and we didn't lose one person although it was the first day of summer and 99 degrees. I haven't walked that much in a very long time and I was soaked with sweat it was way to hot to be climbing hills and standing on all the cement, asphalt and

Stone Mountain was amazing at the top. Everyone have a wonderful weekend and remember to make someone smile everyday.

Is this not the cutest card? The stamp is from Art Impressions along with the verse, the DSP is SU and so is the pom pom ribbon. I saw this stamp and knew I had to have it then I colored everything with Copic's of course. Still trying to catch up with my OWH cards I have 40 left to make this month but I plan on doing another power day later this week. This is my day's work for today! I made 12 cards for OWH soldiers then I wrote little notes of thanks in all of them to mail off in my June package. Hopefully I'll get caught up with my 100 cards a month soon. I found the DSP at Michael's so although I bought 3 sheets for .59 each I made several cards. So yes I'm back in the saddle again as far as making cards but I got stopped when the tree people came.

Personal Journey: Finally some movement on the house, the tree company came by this morning and said they'd be back either after lunch or early Wednesday morning. Well all 5 trucks showed up at 12:30 geez a big Shredder, bucket truck, mini bobcat and a second truck for the wood chips. I can see all my neighbors houses now no more hiding the 'Jerks' house and I can see Ms. Phyliss's beautiful flower garden. Oh and the 'Jerks' shed thats on my property but since he's lived he all his life and his grandparents etc etc he can put stuff anywhere he wants to. Enough about Mr. Norman, all my 40 foot tall trees are down I have one evergreen left and one tree that they topped off. I'm sure my neighbor isn't to happy with me because she told me she couldn't afford to cut her tree down nor clean it up and hoped that the tree guys would take pity on her. Well they'll be back tomorrow at 0730 AM to finish the job, its sad to see the old trees gone but this is my philosphy Mother Nature did this to us not God. I hope that makes sense to you because when this tornado hit the first words out of my mouth was 'Oh God, O God why?' when in reality it wasn't God it was Mother Nature. In the days that followed I realized so much more about God than I had ever known. I've learned so much about myself in the past six weeks thanks to being alone and having the chance to think things through. This past six weeks has been a blessing to me I have made some decisions alone only because I've tried talking to my daughter but she's been to busy. I'm not needed anymore and I want to be needed I want someone to care about me, to worry if they haven't heard from me in a week. I could fall down the stairs and who would care or check on me? Answer me that? Jeanine

I received this digital image a few months ago and I thought it was so elegant. Now I'm not elegant matter of fact what you see is what you get and trust me that's not dress up. I received this when I bought a Cancer pack of Digi's for Katie's Cause. It actually came with paper to print and so the card wasn't hard to make at all because all I really did was layer the cardstock, add a ribbon and some tiny pearls and it was made. I just love Laura's images at Doodle Pantry, she makes this little piggy so whimsical and I just purchased six of her new images! I actually colored them with Copic's and that was a challenge since I haven't touched my markers in two months, just plain sinful.

I love the big eyes and the salutation 'Need a hug?" is to precious. My first card I made for the OWH challenge this week and then made another one with this great paper by K & Company. OWH I'm back on board

Well I actually got busy and made 20 cards for my OWH group. I just took the time to make these cards because I so believe in the group and I've slacked off. Usually I make over 100 cards a month for the soldiers but I've miss 6 weeks and so I need to get back into the swing of things. Guess I'll be busy making them while I have all the tornado damage repairs made. I had these Coke images and thought they were a great for some vintage cards. Right now OWH is requesting generatic cards like Missing You, Just a Note, Hello. These are my favorite cards to make because they don't take a lot of time to make up.

I tried to post this last night but Blogger wasn't working right so after and hour I quit. Tonight it's taken another hour and I can't believe I'm having this much trouble with Blogger. Today I didn't make a single card instead I filled out more forms and finished up with my insurance claim stuff. Enough, it was a good day and thats all that matters. Have a blessed day. Jeanine

Quickie Cards

Wow I have been so busy this week with phone calls, trips to the bank, contractors, bill s and more bills. I'm broke and still making cards but then anyone that makes cards is always broke due to love of goodies.
I knew I needed to make some cards so I dug out some pre-made stickers and made these quick cards. I really need some crafting time but with contractors here I'm wiped out. I promise to get in the swing of things in the next few days, I did get some new Tilda stamps so I'll quit playing in quick set concrete and stamp soon. Then I'll tell you the story of my new mailbox.

This was a pretty quick card that I made using some sample papers MS butterfly border punch and my Spellbinder dies. This is a digital image by Christie and I colored it with Copic's. I so loved to color with Copic's and it's been over a month since I picked up a single pen thank
goodness I have a big stash of pre-colored images.
I'm sorry I've been quick with my post lately but I am having to contract to do all the work to my home. Farmers sent me a check for all the damages instead of contracting to do the work so now everywhere I call I get this "Sorry there's a 3-4 month wait list". I need a vacation!!!

Always Remember

This weekend is for remembering our military near & far, from all the wars, all the deployments men, women and our Veterans. To alot of people Memorial weekend is a 3 day weekend, picnic, family gathering but its actually a time for all of us to take a few moments to thank a soldier, a veteran and let them know how much we appreciate them. When I first saw this stamp set from Stampin Up I knew I had to buy it for my Hero Cards for OWH. Now this past month I haven't made any cards because of the tornado damage and losing my mother but those soldiers didn't stop fighting in Iraq because it was to hot or to cold so I need to pick myself up off the ground and move forward making my usual 100 cards a month for OWH. I bought the patriotic paper at Michael's and the ribbon also and I plan to include this card with a special note for a OWH Hero. There is a huge OWH blog hop going on right now with 132 participates join in the fun and make some cards for our guys and gals. Butterflies & Flowers always bring a smile!

How can you not smile when you see God's beautiful flowers and those precious butterflies flying around? I made this card to inspire me to look for the beautiful things in life and I need to get back into my Studio and start making cards for "Operation Write Home" and this is what I came up with. I used SU cardstock, Anna Griffith DSP some cute inchies and MS butterfly border punch. I keep salutations in a plastic box actually several containers hold many pre-stamped greetings and that way I don't have to get out everything just for a greeting. Hope you enjoy the card and hang in there with me while I get my Mojo workin again. Let's continue to pray for all those affected by the flooding, tornado's and vicious weather out there right now. Coming Home

Hello everyone and thanks for all your patience the last month.
My piggy card is from my stash of card but this one is a pre-colored from a free digi sight and I really need to start writing down when I do these because I write the artist name on the back of the digi but then forget it when I glue the card together. The flower is one that I made using the scallop punch from SU and crinkling them. I love pink and chocolate together and this is TAK paper. Love the saying I use it sometimes but not as much as I use to.
Personal Journey: I just got back last night from my whirlwind trip to Illinois. Let me tell you it was a trip that should be embedded in my brain for ever thanks to my brother-in-law and my big brother. Just imagine being in a tiny Kia with three people that have hardly anything in common except one thing and I thought driving up to Woodstock, Il we would share some of the memories of Mom and Dad but nope not much of that happened. Anyway I did see alot of the flooding in Illinois, Missouri wow I really question what's really happening in our world these days. Joplin brought back so many memories and my heart goes out to all those people. Well I have a dozen things to do today most important is to return this little rental and pickup my Jeep I so missed it and can't wait to drive it! Gotta git the little dog picked up and mail and tomorrow I need to get a mail box installed so I can get my mail delivered again.
Again thank you all for hanging in there for me, I still have a long road to go to get the house back to normal and then I'll decide what I'm gonna do. Loving thoughts and prayers for all of you. Jeanine

Ruff Day?

It certainly has been a rough few weeks but I do believe I have no where but to go but up. I love this little pug face from Doodle Pantry, I colored him with Copic's put him on Certainly Celery cardstock from SU, then I used the Spellbinder die's with the heart border. My DSP is from SU, I just cut a square for the card then cut the DSP in half . I used the SU oval punch to put the greeting on the card, then I just added the daisy flower and so enjoyed making the card.
Personal Journey: It's been a busy few days and I have all the arrangements made for the graveside service in Illinois. It will be a long few days starting on Sunday when I drive to Patton, Missouri (7 hours) pick up my brother and his wife then drive through to Springfield, Illinois (3 hours) where we'll get motel rooms and spend the night. Then we'll pick up my brother-in-law and drive to Woodstock, Illinois (3-4 hours). After the service the boys want to turn around and drive back so I'll let them drive and when we get to Missouri, I'll drive a few miles to the Cape find a motel and spend the night. Then I'll just take my time driving home maybe stop off in Clarksville and visit my friend Sue Powers. Heck you never know what I'll do. Remember to 'Pay it forward', God Bless. Jeanine

Clara Maynard 1918-2011

My mother, Clara Mae (Raven) Maynard passed away May 16, 2011 at 1:15 PM. She was 92 1/2 and loved life, her last few weeks were spent in the hospital and Life Care of Athens,Tennessee. Mom was married to Vernon for 55 years, she had 3 children: Marguerite, Robert and me! She was born and raised in McHenry, Illinois to Royal James Raven and Emma Loetsch. She had 5 brothers and 2 sisters and lived on a big farms. She loved bowling and bingo and loved to dance. She'll be dancing now in Heaven with all her family. She will be buried in McHenry County Memorial Gardens next to her husband and parents within the next week. God rest her weary soul.
Personal Journey: I spent Friday and Sunday with Mom and I've had several long talks with you although she never really responded. I knew she was holding on for a reason but I just wasn't sure what it was. I explained that if she was waiting for Robert her son to come it wasn't going to happen but that she would always know we loved her. I then started reading her the book "There really is a Heaven". I think she was afraid of dying afraid of her past catching up with her, so after talking to her about her changed ways in the past few years and the story about Heaven she finally understood that God was with her forever. I received a phone call on Monday saying her breathing was
dense and that they had called the doctor. Within 30 I received another phone call saying Mom had passed. It's really a relief to me and I know it is to her, she's been though alot the past few months. I know that she's at peace and all is well. I hope that my followers will stick with me as I take a weeks leave to take Mom's remains to Illinois for a Graveside service. I can't leave until Friday as my car won't be ready. I still don't have Internet or Phone service but AT & T says their working on it. I should be able to post another time or two before I leave but again thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Recycle Project

I have to come up with some unique as a Thank you card for all the volunteers that helped out with the Tornado victims. I went to pick up some mail at the Post Office and found this flier about recycling. And the light bulb went off. Yes the lights are still on............... sometimes !

So I picked up this brochere and got to work making sure that I show everyone how I recycle. This isn't the first time I've done a recycle project for the blog but this one is full of heart. I used SU Garden Green, Certainly Celery, an white cardstock then I punched out with my postage stamp punch from Marvy, after layering I arranged the smart recycle ideas on the paper then punched out the 'Thank you' from Martha Stewarts punch. I plan on delivering this card but it will probably be another month before they let us put in mailboxes for home delivery. I think the card turned out darling and I'm sure they will appreciate the concept. You don't have to have alot to make a card and when your limited on money you can think of many ways to recycle and use your creativity.

Personal Journey: Well we've survived 2 weeks and things are working out, I'm still going to McDonalds to get WiFii but free is better than no Internet. I miss making entries to my blog and I miss talking to all my wonderful Cyber friends. Yesterday the contractor came by and did an estimate on my home, I have to have a new roof, new turbans on the roof, new gutters, my new windows in the back have to be re-framed because Mr. Tornado pulled them out. I'll get all new railing on the redwood porch because the tree fell on it. My Jeep is almost a brand new car now, its blue book p

rice is $5000 and all the damage on it will cost $3315 but I love my Grand Cherokee and although its 2000 it only has 100,000 miles on it. The Kia rental is ok but I've never wacked my head so many times getting in and out of one car. Hopefully work will start in the next week on the house then I can get back to some normality. It will never be normal Mrs. Nix's will fix the house and sell it. Janice won't be back in her house for 6-9 months and the Leadfords found a small home very close to their daughter and want to buy it, then just sell their land. I look out and I see all the devastation and the nightmare comes back. I'll close out for now and hopefully by this weekend I will have the cable for Internet and phone. Fooled ya I actually made this card a few weeks ago before all the havor happened. Its made with SU DSP, 3-D Embellishments and ric rack. I plan on making Thank you cards for all the volunteers that helped me and the neighborhood out hopefully next week.
Personal Notes: We got power back last night at 9:10 PM I was standing outside with the Orlando Utilities Company serviceman when the lights came on. I started clapping and thanking the 16 men came in 5 trucks as a disaster relief team. They had worked in my neighborhood for 7 days straight to completely rewire the electric poles and homes that were damaged or destroyed by the tornado. I can't begin to thank all the volunteers and services that reach out to help the homeless. I decided the yard sale I was going to have would become donations for those with nothing. Red Cross volunteers that were going door to door knew who needed what and it worked out well. I got rid of tons of stuff and many people got clothes, dishes, shoes and goodies. This morning I got up and took a ten minute HOT shower it was heaven and I had coffee it was wonderful. Now I still don't have a phone, Internet or TV but I do have power so I can charge my cell phone, do laundry and cook. Oh yea I don't have any food or nothin to cook. I'm working on getting everything fixed and then I want to sell the house and move to a townhome or apartment. I have no neighbors and won't have for almost a year but mostly because I won't have to worry about yard work and upkeep of the house. Plus all the construction truck, hauling out of trees and destruction it's a chance to move that I wouldn't otherwise have had. I got a rental car and have gone to see Mom a few times in Life Care of Athens, she is a skelaton weighing in at 103 pounds and she is totally out of it for knowing anyone. The doctor has taken all medications away for her heart and is offering pain meds as needed. I'll be going up to see her on Mother's Day and then just spending the day with my dog. Vicki has to work all day and I'm sure my youngest will call so the grandkids can talk to me, she has called quite a bit since the tornado. Well I hadn't meant to make this so long but felt since I hadn't updated all week I should at least touch base with all of you. Tornado Distruction

Hi everyone, I'm up at Micky D's again its been 4 nights and its getting better. Everyone is volunteering and we have water, batteries and lots of help from all the church groups. They say we still will be without electricity for 3 weeks. My hot water ran out so I broke down and went to my daughter's yesterday for a few hours. It was nice to have TV, relax on the back porch and enjoy the peace and quiet. This first picture is of my neighbors house without the roof.

This is Janice across the street from me and my driveway and street blocked by a tree thats 5 feet around. Good news my friend Karass found my mailbox today and the mail. Good thing I had a bill in there and the county didn't care when they brought in the bulldozer to clean the street. I did lose my new flower pot that goes around the mailbox post and all the pretty flowers but thats such a small loss compared to what these other people lost and it was such an old neighborhood you just wonder how many of these people had insurance.
This pic is from my back yard where I had 5 old oak trees at least 30-40 feet tall God was looking after me when they went down on my back porch and shed but never touched the house. I've had Josh & Karass my old neighbors over everyday since the tornado cutting trees, limbs, hauling stuff off to the garbage, raking, they have been such a blessing to me. My mother is fine in Athens, I haven't been to see her but I have called. My daughter had no damage except a tree knocked down. I save my cell phone for calls from the insurance company and other stuff for mom. As soon as I have electricity I'll be able to start making cards just for the stress relief. I'm suppose to get a rental car Tuesday then I can drive to Athens to see her. I thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and thank God each time I think about it for my many blessings. I have seen so much Pay it Forward in the past few days I'm delighted to say God was with all of us and is with us all just for the asking. Please know I'm thinking about all of you. Love, Jeanine

When good and bad mix!

No time to talk at Micky D's for coffee had to get away for a few.

This is my house and back yard the two houses across from me are gone. Its horrible looks like a war zone but my house wasn't hurt bad just the porch, windows and trees. No electricity, no phones my cell phone is dead. This last picture is of the store in front of me all gone.

it only took one, I had 6 neighbors spend the night cause we couldn't leave we were trapped in with roads closed. Contact everyone later when I get a chance gotta get back home now. Bless all of you.

Soar like an Eagle

I love the eagles they are so magestic, so powerful and so breathtaking. I have always been in awe of them, I could sit for hours and watch them. When I saw this stamp set from 'Our Daily Bread' called 'On Eagles Wings' I knew I had to have it. It had two verses with it but it's great for masuline cards and or for encouragement. I used SU cardstock and cut out the Eagle then used pop dots to pop it up on the tulip framed embossing folder from SU. I then used stars from Michael's generic gems. For some reason Blogger has become quiet unstable, I can type up a entry for the day and when I go to log out it says Blogger has closed the Internet and guess what my blog entry isn't there. I am getting quite upset with them.

Personal Journey: Ok this is the third time I have typed this and it keeps being deleted by the little ghost inside the Internet Blogger. I will try one more time. I am taking a day to myself today sitting here in my robe at 12:05 haven't done this in years. I have been going strong for the past 7 days and I just need a day all alone for me! Yesterday I was at the hospital at 9AM because Mom was going to be moved to a nursing home rehab center. After several phone calls to file a grievance with the insurance carrier they approved Mom's stay because of the bed sore wound. Then the hospital played around doing nothing for Mom except when I requested it and they said she wouldn't be transferred until 3 PM. I had to go to the assisted living place she had been at, pack all her clothes and file papers to her leaving. Then I had to go to Athens, TN about 40 miles away and fill out papers for admission into the Life Care Center there. Then I sat there and waited for Mom to come by ambulance finally at 6 PM I was told she hadn't left the hospital yet. I was furious with Sky Ridge and immediately left for the hospital 30 miles away. When I got there I was told she left at 3:15 now where the hell is she? I found out that she actually left the hospital about 6:15 and I probably passed them on the freeway. Long story short, she's there at Life Care and its a 70 mile drive each day so I took the day off. Today they are doing tests on her all day for therapy, wound care, social services and I'm taking a break. Thanks for all the prayers I love that someone is listening to me. It's now 1230 and I started at 1040 ya all think something is wrong that it took so long to post? Stampin hugs, Jeanine

Hi everyone, this is the first chance I've had the computer with me so I'm here to say hope all of you had a good Easter and that you celebrated. This card is one I had made up and in my stash for days like today when I have a minute but not enough to make a card. I used SU cardstock, K & Co. DSP, Fred She Said pre colored image and of coarse my Spellbinder dies. I stamped the HappyEaster from my mini greetings stamp set from Stampendous.
Just a quick note: Mom is still in the hospital awaiting insurance approval to go to a nursing home with rehab facilities to care for her body sores and the staph infections. She's very tired, very sore and she's ready to go, she said she's had a good life but she's tired. Please keep her in your prayers, she's 92 and had a good life.

Good Friday

I actually made this card a few weeks ago and put it in my stash file that way when I'm crunched for time I can grab and card and still have a post. This card is made with SU cardstock and the new tulip frame folder from SU. While I was cleaning up my Studio I grabbed a bunch of 3-D embellishment that I bought many years ago and saved for a raining day. The embellishments are from 3 Star and I actually bought them when QVC use to have Craft day. My 'Thinking of You' is also from SU but I made it embossed it and put it in my salutation jar for a quick grab. Hey this old brain might be slow but its still workin!

Personal Journey: I spent the day at the hospital with Mom. She looks so small and fragile in that huge hospital bed, actually they upgraded her bed to a special air bed. Don't tell anybody but she hates it, says it's uncomfortable but hey after laying in a bed or sitting in a recliner for the past 8 weeks you'd be hating beds also. She's suppose to go to a full nursing home for wound care but being Easter weekend the insurance company didn't respond so they told me she would be in there until at least Monday. I had her taken off Morphine and put on Loratab and she is so much more aware and talk-a-tive. We had a good day from 9 till 5:30 we talked, I read to her and her grand daughter Vicki and son in law Allen came to visit. Vicki got her to eat a full cup of ice cream and almost a full bottle of Ensure, thats more than she's eaten in several days. Mom adores Vicki so if anyone can get her to do something its Vicki. When I got ready to leave I kissed her and told her I loved her and she said 'Jean, I'm tired real tired.' Then as I was walking out the door she said 'remember I love you.' That was really unusual but I think she's made piece with all and she's ready to go, I can't imagine her pain it has to be great but I know she loves the Lord so she'll be fine. Jelly Bean Prayer

Don't have alot of time to chat today, I made this card last night when I couldn't sleep. I've been up since Tuesday morning when I got a call from the nurse at Home Health Care. She said she was worried about Mom because she was running a high fever, high blood pressure and an irratic heartbeat. I had them call an ambulance to take Mom to the ER and I met them there. Last Tuesday I had to take Mom to her regular physician because the little sore that the nurse didn't know how to take care needed to be seen by her regular doctor. He prescribed antiboitics and creams, I didn't see the sore because I was holding her up so they could remove her diaper to look at the wound. Well when she got to the ER they were extremely concerned about that wound. When they showed it to us (my daughter was there) we couldn't believe it, its not a sore its a huge wound. She's been admitted to the hospital and will have wound care for 3-5 days then she will go to a fully staffed nursing home for wound care. At first I felt bad and cried my eyes out thinking it was all my fault but I trusted a doctor and 3 nurses with my mothers life. She's in pain and being well taken care of now but I'm still waiting for the doctor to come in for her assessment and its 1005AM. His assistant just came in and informed me they will be in this afternoon so I'm going to curl up and take a nap if the noise doesn't keep me up. I went home last night about midnight to sleep but it wouldn't come so I made a couple of cards and came back to the hospital about 05:30 but I had to let my dog out and change clothes.

More Butterfly Fun

Wow I was on a roll today, I made 20 cards with images I had laying around card the ideas just kept rolling in. This first card I saw on SCS and it was designed by Shanna Fudge. I loved the idea and so I made 4 of these some all red some green and blue everything is SU except the butterfly punches which are Martha Stewart.

Have you ever done this? Put the paper in the folder backwards! I love this FSS Angel and its easy to create a quick card, I have 25 cards left to make before I get my 100 for OWH so needless to say I'm making some quickie cards this month and this is one of them.

Never throw those scraps away, I had this SU DSP, an inchie all by itself and the new SU tulip embossing folder waa laa another simple card.

I got busy with the Big Shot today and my two new embossing folders tons of SU cardstock and yes a big of images. I swear this Spread your wings green matches the cardstock, after taking 5 pictures I finally gave up I don't know why it looks so light compared to the image.
Yep, I must have 100 butterfly stamps and verses all of which I'm in love with and any chance I can stamp butterflies I'm all over it. A few weeks ago I played with a brayer and the rainbow stamp pads I sure had fun and today I found a way to use them all up. Well thats it for today I'll be back tomorrow night for sure but I need to take Mom to the orthopedic doctor tomorrow for her 8 week check-up has it been that long since she broke her hip? Butterfly Heaven

I love butterflies I think I may have told you that about a thousand times but I just had to share this card with you because of the Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch. It's so pretty and delicate and when I placed my image on this Anna Griffin paper I fell in love again. Of course I colored the butterfly with Copic's then stained or antiqued the white cardstock with distress ink added some SU cording and I was finished. So what do you think? I still haven't heard from CJ, left her a comment on her blog so hopefully she will contact me in the next day or two.

Personnal Journey: It's Saturday and I'm just sitting around doing squat (and I don't mean exercising)! I have had two days to jump into my Studio and play and believe this or not I have no desire. I even got new stamps from Ellen Hutson and just don't care to go downstairs. It's been such horrible weather here, dark and gloomy and last night I thought my house was going to blow over. We had winds as high as 80 miles an hour my new windows were whining and this morning I spent cleaning up branches that had toppiled (thank God it was just branches and not trees). I just am tired of all the rain and storms lately and its depressing me because I have no desire to create. I know

I should be counting my blessings instead of complaining but that almighty BUT always creeps in there. I'm running out of cards in my stash to post and I really need a re-charging I need to find someone around here who wants to clean my clock when it comes to stamping. We use to have DRI's when I first moved here (DRI stands for Dive Right In) and it was a day event where all the stampers came together to play, learn and enjoy each others company. We haven't had one of those in years...........I need one! I guess I have to look to organize one but I have to find a place to hold it Hello Knoxville I'll help put it together!!!! Is this not a darling card? This card is a digital image from 'Cheryl' and I colored her with Copic's and Spica SU DSP with mulberry paper behind the image. SU silver cord and clear gems. OK without any further ado I had 34 comments thank you to everyone that took the time to comment, I still can't believe that is all that entered but hey better for all of you. Today I spent the afternoon and part of the evening making cards it was my birthday so I could do anything I wanted to! I'm behind in making my OWH cards so I figured if I cleaned my workspace I would find plenty of finished images that I could make my cards geez I started playing and the next thing I knew it was 7 PM worked right through my lunch and dinner but I made 20 cards and I didn't stamp hardly anything. I was digging for something and I found all these pop up images so I pulled papers and had a blast.
Oh yea I said I was going to draw for the winner of my Blog Candy, I had 34 comments and want to thank each and everyone of the girls. I've got plans to do some cool idea blogs with store finds making really cool cards for super cheap. You'd be surprised the stuff I find and I've taken pictures then I plan on making the cards and shocking all of you.
I've used things I've found in the Sunday paper for those of you that are on limited budgets. I love making cards like this.
Oh yea I was suppose to tell you the winner, well I had to write down each name some 2 or 3 times cut them up and draw a name from a bowl. He is actually Mom's dog but since she couldn't take him to the nursing home he had to stay with me, he's OK but not my choice of dogs.

I love inchie cards these are so cute and they come from Fred She Said pre-colored digital images and you can make a card so fast. This cardstock is SU Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery with the border punch. The designer paper is SU and the ribbon is cheapy Michaels dollar ribbon. I used my computer to type the verse and cut it out with the SU slit punch. Don't forget to sign up for the blog candy I'll be drawing the winner as soon as I get home tomorrow night after 8 PM.

Personal Journal: Today I received my shutters and they were installed by 11 AM. Then I waited for 'Rooms to Go' to finally deliver the love seat that should of been delivered back in February when I received the Couch but no I have no good words to say about 'Rooms to Go'. The furniture is huge .and when I realized it I tried to cancel the love seat and get a chair instead but they wouldn't budge and change the order said I made the purchase and I was stuck with it. I had to put the coffee table in the corner because there wasn't enough room to put it between the couch and love seat. OH well enough about the living room, going to my daughter Vicki's for dinner tonight haven't seen her in about a month although we live less than 5 miles apart. She has her own life and I've learned that she doesn't need me anymore so I need to move on, realizing I'm not needed or wanted anymore.

I'm learning slowly but surely, now go 'Pay it Forward'.

Is this image not adorable the salutations means Happy Birthday and the image is from Just Ink Lined it was a freebie last week. I am horrible about smartalic salutations on cards unless I see something cute I can never think of a cute verse. But I had this hispanic paper for ever and could not find anyone to give credit to. I wish people would save their images with their names or initials then the image name thats how I save them in my computer. Anyway I colored Amigo with Copics and Spica pens put some texture on the horse and added some Michaels dollar ric rak ribbon. He looks so cute I cut him out with Spellbinder rectangles then sponged the image before removing the die. I love doing that that since I'm bad about backgrounds.

This is another wonderful digital image from Fred She Said and I know it would be a great card for a dad or Mom in Afganistan to send home to their daughter. I used SU cardstock and DSP from the Book of Colors 6 X 6. I used Spellbinders oval dies and the new banner dies. Oh the embossing folder is from SU and I used the pearls that come in the SU packs it really makes the card elegant, don't you think? Personal Journey: I can't believe its Thursday night and within 48 hours my grand daughter will be going to Prom. It's been a busy week but a productive week. I had my windows installed, the new shudders on the house, spoke my piece at Rooms to Go and told them I would never refer anyone to their company. I spent today with my friend True, we celebrated our birthday's having lunch then went back to her place to catch up on chatter. I also stopped and visited with Mom, she didn't look good today she was real blotchy on her face and her legs looked horrible. I was shocked to see the shape her legs were in, since the surgery she has really changed in her personality. She's agitated all the time, she cusses, she is always picking or scratching and she loves to take all her clothes off! Yep you heard me all her clothes, Abby the nurse said "I left to use the restroom I wasn't gone 3 minutes and there she was stripped naked with all her clothes thrown on the floor." At night Mom picks at her legs pulling the skin off and causing bleeding everywhere. I'm going to get something to calm her down, she wasn't like this before her hip surgery, now she's constantly figitting and like I said she acts spaced out and doesn't talk like she use to. We have a doctors appointment on Tuesday with the surgeon and then I'm going to take her to our regular doctor, I'm worried about her but she doesn't even know who I am.

I Won I Won I Won! Fred She Said's Blog Hop

I just finished this card it's part of my prize from Fred She Said. I WON! I got notified yesterday that I won the Grand prize on the Fred She Said Blog Hop!!! Woo Hoo I'm so happy I can hardly stand it. I got a $25 gift certificate from Fred She Said (and their having a sale now so I'll get more) a $25 certificate from Crop Stop and 2 free digi sets of paper from Bearly Mine Designs. Wow oh Wow I was shopping till late last night I was so excited!
Then I had to download all the items and that took a while this afternoon. Then I had to choose which ones I wanted to print and work with. Isn't this adorable this darling chick is pre-colored so that made making the card alot easier. I'll have more tomorrow after I finish with the yard work.

My second card is for the OWH challenge this week and I was asked to join the challenge from a dog. Yep I got a email from Ciara at OWH who had a digi made of her. I laughed till I cried when I read the whole post, then knew I had to compete in this challenge. The card DSP is unknown I've had it for years, its 6 X 6 papers with no markings. The embellishments are tied on with twine and I colored Ciara with Copics.

It's Saturday & Tilda is lookin good!

Wow this week has gone fast and I got only two cards made all week.

this one is a Magnolia that I colored with Copic's then cut out to mount on dimensionals. The background paper is a kleenex box and I love the print on it. All the other cardstock is SU with a small piece I ran through the Big Shot. My ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin and the brad is one of the new SU fabric colored brads (they are so pretty I just might have to break down and buy them). I usually do the DSP, button and ribbon sample packs that way I get to see everything new close up.

So I sure hope I get craftin time this weekend! You all have a great weekend and get crafting!

Personal Journey: This week has flown by! The windows were totally finished Monday I made a coursage & boutonniere , Tuesday I met Joanne, Wednesday I visited Mom, ran errands and helped Miss Lindsey design her own coursage & boutonniere in the evening. Thursday I didn't do much but laundry, cleaning and putting up some of the blinds that the guys took down while installing windows. They broke one set and the two in the kitchen I think have been there since inception, so I'm going to have to get some new ones this weekend and figure out how to put them up. Oh and I did my taxes finally! I owe for Federal and although I don't live in Arizona I still have to donate my money to them and file for it the following year. So I'll come out even with the board this year, although I don't understand why the little guys have to pay when all their lives they played by the rules and paid taxes and Mr. Corporation gets all the tax breaks. Isn't this a cute froggy? I decided to use it today when I saw Deedee's challenge for the week. The challenge is to make a card for a child and since I make cards for Operation Write Home I made this card for a soldier to send to his child. I love
Deedee's digi's she has so many to choose from check her website out at: www.deedeesdigis.com
I used SU cardstock, DSP, ribbon, oval punches and for my border punch its an Anne Griffin (HSN) punch. I'm not impressed with them, they punch only about 1 1/2 inches and they aren't easy to line up but thats just my opinion.

Personal Journey: Today was a great day, I met a sweet lady named Joann and we're like two peas in a pod. We have so much in common it's unbelievable and we spent two hours just getting to know each other over coffee. I met her through Senior Circle and we're going on our first trip together in May to Myrtle Beach. If the Myrtle Beach works out and I don't snore or annoy her we'll make it official and become travel partners. I think we are going to have some fun times, she loves to cruise, she's totally honest and up front about her feelings and I really enjoyed the afternoon with her. I'm excited because this is something I have wanted to do since I retired but due to prior committments couldn't. Today was a good day full of blessings. Pay it Forward - give something of yourself.

Chocolate Lovers Delight

My how I love Chocolate not just any Chocolate I'm particular but hey these cards turned out pretty cute! My friend Jeanna in Kansas got me tons of goodies during the SAB and this 'Eat Chocolate' set was one of

them from Stampin UP! I don't buy many stamps anymore because I really love the digitals but hey what can a lady do when she gets free stamps with her order. Anyway I made these three cards as birthday cards and I used all SU goodies. The ribbon is SU, the cord is SU the brad is a sale brad that I got at the SU sale and I colored it with a Chocolate chip SU marker to make it look like Chocolate. The lace is SU but the embossing folder isn't. I have used that Polka Dot folder so

much it broke this last time. My background for my photo shoot is the designer paper series 'Elegant Soiree'. So there you have it Chocolate in a nutshell (I love nuts in my chocolate) ask my friend Becky who ate my 2 pounds of chocolate nuts when I accidently (she to took it when we were unloading my car at her house after a trip) left it. She claims to have had a chocolate attack and wandered upon it, sure Becky and I've got a believe that cause she ate the evidence.

Cocoa Get Well

I made this card today while I had my new windows put in. These guys were a real hoot and I laughed at them all day. But back to the card it's for the Cocoa challenge where we were to use polka dots. I used this paper I bought at the dollar store but I did use the new Pompom ribbon ? from SU. It's not ribbon but I don't know what to call it, I also used a Martha Stewart edge punch to make my center lace. So what do you think? I did my Iris Fold Cards and didn't get a single comment wow now that is scarey! Have a great weekend and remember make someone smile today it will make you feel oh so good!

Iris Folding cards

I have been trying for 2 days to post this Iris Folding but Blogger has me ripping my hair out. At first I thought it was my laptop but when I tried to use my desk computer today Blogger locked up my whole computer so I will post these pictures and then get on the phone with Blogger to find out what is going on. These cards are from the Cardmaker Card Kit I get monthly and don't think they are worth the $21. it cost.
I think the paper is super thin and cheap but I do have to say I actually learned how to Iris Fold. Ok
I'm done it just deleted the other 3 pictures I had, hopefully everything will get fixed the next 24 hours . God Bless all of you and I sure hope I can get this fixed!

Eat Chocolate

This is another new stamp set that I got from SU, since I love Chocolate this was a must have set. The cardstock is SU the DSP is Pink Paislee, buttons from SU what a quick simple card with layered paper.

Personal Journey: Well its Monday night I had to dig this card out of my stash because I haven't been in the Studio all weekend. Saturday I had the yard mowed, picked up branches, burned the wood piles and then got my mail. I got my Paper Wishes card packet and I was hooked with the Iris Folding. I've done it once before with my dear friend True but I couldn't get the handle of it. I did 8 iris folds and loved all of it. I didn't get to make any cards but I sure had fun with these patterns. Today I got up and decided to do laundry then while my first load was going I headed outside to the flower bed. There I spent 3 hours pulling weeds and got a burn on the back of my neck from having my head down pulling weeds. I came in took a shower and my day was done, my back is killing me I didn't even feel like eating dinner so I did soup. Tomorrow is tax day come heck or high water I will get them done I just can't figure out to do them myself or Have a great week! I got two ladies that are taking me up on the $10 postal only freebie of stamps and goodies. Hugs, Jeanine

Dig Chicks

Well once again I fell in love with Doodle Pantry's images they are so realistic and some are colored so I can grab one of them and make a quick card. I was in a polka dot mood and using Spellbinder dies I layered these little chicks and both of the greetings. I used SU cardstock and some Michael's ribbon a Cuddlebug folder and waa laa the cards were done.
Personal Journey: Today I had plans to do my taxes but a lawn mower disrupted my coffee & paper this morning. After listening to it for a few hours I decided I'd be the only one in the neighorhood with foot tall weeds if I didn't go out and enjoy the beautiful weather. Well I started out by picking up sticks and then these two adorable small boys came over and said 'Mam, we're trying to earn money to paint our soapbox, we've mowed Grandma's yard and them people's so if you want we'll help you?'. Oh they were so darling Brad 10 and Colton 7, they mowed, their dad weedeated and we had the lawn done in 2 hours. Then they asked if they could do it regularly and were delighted when I paid them $25, they ran all the way home. After they left I continued working outside, it was beautiful high was 83 and so
I didn't want to come in but my back made me about 4 PM.

New Products

I made a few cards yesterday from all my new SU goodies and Spellbinder dies. I love all my stuff but I especially love this Heart Circle Spellbinder die. Wow it is so pretty and I had fun working with it and all the teenie tiny little hearts it produces. My stamp is from SU as is the DSP and cardstock, the ribbon is some I've had for a long time.

My second card is again SU cardstock and the Always Elegant (121207) stamp I used on the first card. I embossed this image with SU silver embossing powder. I cut out the card with a Spellbinder large oval die, then I placed the image in the oval. On the inside of the card I covered the image back with a piece of DSP. Super quick, super simple cards but I love the new goodies. Now if I could just learn how to use the Beveled Windowpanes.

Believe

I've always been a believer, I think as you get older you also become closer to God. I seem to talk to him alot more always asking questions that I didn't worry about before. I had alot less worries or at least I thought so when I was younger and invincable. Now I don't worry I just wonder........where did that ache come from, did I always walk crooked, why do I seem so lazy, why do I lose so many things, why would I keep my pen in the kitchen cubboard with my salt? Why do my shoes keep disappearing oh and then I surprise myself with things like crackers in the fridge. I delight in finding things in some of the most amazing places, and my basement has become my catch all area with only a path to the stairs and the outdoors.

Well trust me the worst room of the house is my studio, I can be making a card and lose the scissors I was working with. I have so much stuff I just toss the bag in the corner and move on. I think I'll donate a bunch of stuff to the school again I know I can't use all that cardstock nor all the hundreds no make that thousands of stamps I have. Want a goodie box send me $10 for postage and I will fill it up with stamps, embellishments, paper and ribbon I just have to get rid of this stuff. I just got another box of stamps and cardstock from SU yesterday with all the SAB's and geez I bearly have my head above all this stuff. I'm serious about the goodie boxes just email me at azgramtn@bellsouth.net and I'll give you my address then I'll fill a USPS large box with your favorite type of stamps and mail it back to you. I'm becoming a hoarder and that is scary so help me to straighten out my basement and studio heck fire even tell your friends.

Thinking of you Marjorie

A very dear cyber friend sent me this beautiful card along with a lovely note. I so enjoyed this card I decided I would love to try to duplicate the card. Although I didn't have the SU stamp set she used I had this stamp similar to her's. Thank you Marjorie for the kind words and the beautiful card you are a gift to me.

I used SU Old Olive, Hunter Green (retired), So Saffron and SU DSP To the Nines, I used SU Basic Pearls, Victoria 5/8 inch Crochet Trim and the tiny flower from the triple flower punch of SU. I used the pens to ink up the stamp and although you can't see them to well I colored the stamp branches with Old Olive, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and YoYo Yellow. The stamp I used is from Ellen Hutson and I really like the cloning but I love Marjorie's card the best. I'll add these to the stack of cards I have going to OWH this month and remember the pattern since I really enjoyed making these cards.

Personal Journey: As you can see it's late and one of those nights that for the love of me I can't go to sleep. I've tried twice now to lay down but I just can't go to sleep so I thought I would blog. Mom is back at the nursing home and I'm finally back on a normal schedule. She had her two week check-up yesterday and the doctor says she's doing wonderful. He can't get over the recovery she's had and thinks she'll do just fine. I'm just relieved that she did so well and that I survived without killing one of the doctors at the hospital. They sure had my blood boiling but hey thats over and I need to realize how blessed I am. I have two beautiful daughters, seven grandchildren, a 92 year old Mother in better health than I, a brother identical to Mom and faith that life couldn't be better. I have great friends and super Cyber friends and what more could a person ask for? You all have a wonderful weekend and remember 'Pay it Forward'.

More St. Patty's Day cards

Doodle Pantry background papers and image, I love love love them!

This blogspot is really making me pull out my hair! Everyday I come in here something new is wrong, today it won't let me add a picture to my blog. Several weeks ago it wouldn't let me move my sidebar goodies around it still won't.

OK so all I had to do is wait 24 hours and it all came back with images, sometimes I want to scream at Blogspot then them come up with this easy blog format and I can't say a thing.

Both of my cards today are from the Doodle Pantry and I just love this bird he's so adorable and happy. I have him as a pirate, Christmas bird, heck I think I have about 6 different images with the holiday birds. I just wonder what Laurie will do for Easter with this darling, he really needs a name think I'll start a campaign for that. Happy St. Patricks Day early

I have three cards to show you today, these are all images from Deedee's Digi's, the DSP is from Doodle Pantry as I didn't have any paper for this project. I got six different DSP and they are all great for St. Patty day cards.

I started making cards for the ladies at the nursing home that Mom is in for all the holidays. It seems that after going there for six month they have little visitation there so I knew making them cards for each holiday would be great. I even make cards for the care givers at Moraa's House and each one of the ladies is very appreciative.

I colored all these images with Copics and added ribbon to creat three great little cards. Now I have to find goodies (usually peanuts or candy for the holiday). It's raining here again 4 days in a row, I actually went outside this morning and raked leaves, picked up sticks, branches and trash before coming in to make all these fun cards. I have been in a real slump lately but I have to say that the OWH blog hop sure put some great ideas in my head now just to find the time to do something. I could not believe there was over 125 entries for the blog hop I have to be honest I just didn't get to all of them but wow it was fun looking and seeing who did what.
My card for today is from a previous challenge to use words as backgrounds and I chose Friends from the SU set. My paper is some of my very favorite called LaCreme from DCWV. It is so beautiful and just has so many different textures. My ribbon is satin from the dollar bin at Michael's and I used my bowmaker for the tiny bow.

This is 'Operation Write Home' Blog Hop! I'm stop #69 and if you came from Shelly's 'Create with me' your in the right place. I've been creating cards for OWH for over 18 months and I love the group.

OWH is amazing, the girls are wonderful, they share their knowledge by making tutorials, all their blog posts, and so much more that I feel so blessed to be apart of this group. I can't serve in the military but I can serve by making 100 cards a month for the soldiers that are serving our country. My card is a digital image from Doodle Pantry
that I colored with Copic's then I stapled the ribbon to the back of a separate oval. Once I had the ribbon secure I mounted the colored oval on the image oval and added Stickles. My brown and pink DSP is about 3 years old from Pink Pazley.

This is my blog candy for our Blog Hop. It's called 'Garden of Flowers' and its a collection of 7 packs of Fabric & Felt Flowers & leaves by 3 Birds collection. Cocoa Challenge

Ric Rak was the challenge for Cocoa this week and I'm trying to catch up with my cards. It's been a long long week but I love donuts so Cocoa and I have alot in common. I used white ric rak that I dyed, I anchored it with heart brads and a SU brad. On my image I colored it in Copics and then covered the icing with Crystal Effects from SU. Hope you enjoy the card and yes please remember to 'Pay it Forward' obviously the people I deal with last week in the hospital hadn't heard about it.

Rainbow Bridge & Rainy

Yesterday Rainy my very special buddy my cat who thought he was a dog, was brutally malled by three neigborhood dogs extremely early in the morning. I heard a ruckas outside at 6:30 to see what was happening but when I got there he was already dead. I picked him up brought him in, then I got dressed so I could bury him properly.

I got Rainy 4 years ago while visiting my brother. Rainy was 3 weeks old and he met me once, then later that afternoon he trecked over 1000 feet through rainy, winds and a tornado to get to us at the house. Soaked I took him in and dried him off, each time I put him down he would climb over the box or whatever to get to me. I'd never wanted a cat nor cared about cats but Rainy won me over. Mom and I laughed at him constantly he was fearlessly independant and brought sunshine to my life. We had two dogs so he actually thought dogs were cool and he learned to be like them playing with them all the time. I took him in an had him fixed and found out that his jaw had been broken but had healed crooked, the vet said he would be fine like that. He came when I called him, he sat up on his back end for treats, he loved the lazer light, he went to the door when he wanted out, he stood on his hind legs and padded (knocked) the door to come in, if I didn't come right away he'd go around the side of the house and knock on that window to get my attention, if and when I still didn't come he would lay down at the door and wait for me. He didn't sit on your lap nor did he want to be picked up but in the middle of the night he always came and laid beside me and rub my face with his paw to wake me up then purrrrrrrr while I scratched, rubbed, petted him for 10 minutes. Sometimes he stayed there or came back later but usually he loved to lay on my feet till 5:30 when he started meowing to be let outside. If I ignored him he got louder and louder until I let him out. I miss him so, he was one of a kind with the softest fur and the sweetest purrrrr. Wait for me Rainy at the Rainbow bridge and we'll see each other again my buddy.

Butterfly Magic & Update

Yes these are the beautiful cards that I made for OWH challenge Any Occasion at www.owhstarsandstamps.org. Join in the fun and see all the completed cards. My butterfly is from 'Our Daily Bread' stamps and

colored with Copic's. I used SU cardstock and DSP with SU ribbon. I so love butterflies and have more than enough but I always want more and Our Daily Bread has a set of several stamps that all go together including this corner stamp then they have a die to cut out the butterfly.

Each one is a little different with Zva crystals, flocking powder or Cuddlebug folders used on the papers but each a little different and the glitter that you see (Never use Glitter on OWH cards) is actually Spica pens so that there is no rub off.

Personal Journey: It's 5:30 PM on Friday we have been on both sides of the spectra this week. Mom is still in the hospital, she had surgery Wednesday night at 1100PM. Today we have sat here waiting to hear if the insurance company will send her to Rehab, but after over 20 calls and many pleads they are refusing her any nursing home recovery time. They claim with the demencia and all her blindness and other ailments therapy would not be productive. So tomorrow morning she will be transported to the private nursing home I have had her at for the past 6 months and they will take as good a care of her as we can hope for. She will be on bed rest for 5 days and then possibility 'In home rehab' which we all know is more expensive than believable. This is really a sore subject but for those of us being caretakers make sure your ducks are all in a row. Have your POA's current, know that you must have a "Durable Power of Attorney" to pay her bills and take care of her affairs. I thought I had all of this but each company is different so make tons of copies and send them all off to her Insurance, Bank , etc. They are talking about putting a lean on our that's "OUR" checking account because of going to a nursing home. "They" meaning the nursing home conglomerant. This whole thing is making me sick, I will be at an Eldercare Attorney Monday for sure until then everything is in limbo except the hospital sending her home with no medical care. Sorry I'm on a downer right now. I was taught to respect your elders and she has paid for supplemental insurance for 30 years between them and Medicare you would think something would be done. Love and prayers to you all.

Thinking of You

Hello, this is a card that I made for the soldiers of OWH a few weeks ago and have kept it in my stash file for a day like today. This paper is from long ago and my image is from
'As you Were' and I made 4 cards all together. Take time to 'Pay if forward' and make some cards for someone really special in your life.

Personal Journey: I am posting this from Skyridge Medical Center in Cleveland, TN. My mother, Clara 92 years old fell yesterday when getting up from her chair. According to the nursing staff she appears dizzy and fell face forward. After much adew I convinced Mom she needed to go to the Emergency Room to see if she had broke anything. She could not stand up with the help of two adults nor put any weight on her leg so we got her out to my car and I drove her to the ER. Now I must tell you that Mom and I have a huge tollerace for pain and although she was moved several times she
barely complained. After doing a X-ray of her knee,hip, shoulder and a CT Scan they said her right hip was broken. Well here we are 25 hours later and we are still waiting for an opening in the surgery schedule. She is on pain IV and things don't look good for this surgery. She is 92, very frail, has demencia and doesn't even know whats going on, she's blind and only recognizes my voice so she won't talk. This morning they called me to come to the hospital right away because she was pulling out her IV's, her catather, pulling off hospital wrist tags, trying to get out of bed and she kept tearing her hospital gown off. Wow this is hard! It's now 7:43 PM, twice today I have been called to the hospital immediately the nurse stated Mom was combative and Morfene was altering her mental statis. I finally went for dinner at 5 PM (first thing I've eaten in two days) and gone less than 30 minutes they called my cell phone to say she had hit a nurse and was combative, her oxygen level was dropping and they needed me there immediately. After being called every name in the book by Mom she had her hands secured and the IV and cathater were in tack. Surgery staff finally came in at 7:31 PM and Mom was taken to surgery. I'll check back with everyone tomorrow and let you know how things are going. I need lots of prayers and strength to make it through this journey. God Bless.

Challenges

I had so much fun putting this card together, first I found my Cocoa challenge colors of purple, green and yellow then I looked for lots of matching co ordinating colors punched them all out with MS Doily Lace punch and put them on the front of my card. Then I colored Cocoa (from Sweet an Sassy Stamps) with Copics put him on a Spellbinders die and he rode through the Hot Shot like a real pro. I layered the image just like the salutation added my Zva creation gems I won in a recent blog hop and then glued it on the front. I used the scraps cut when I punched out the lace for the stopper on

Pocket full of Posies DCWV DSP did it justice.
Then I moved on to Deedee challenge of having a card with buttons. That was easy peasy because I used her new Shamrock bear colored with Copic's and I cut him out then I layered him 3 times although you really can't see that. I used SU cardstock, Fred she said DSP Digital, Lattice Pendants from Spellbinders 1/4 inch taffeta ribbon that I put through the SU mini buttons and then made a triple bow for the bottom of the card. On the inside of the card I used the same DSP and some of the cute scraps from the Lattice Pendant and punched out my greeting with SU punches and I was finished. So much fun to play with punches and my new Spellbinders. I hope you enjoy both cards and have a wonderful weekend cause the weather is suppose to be beautiful. God Bless.

Lucky 13 ---Linda's the winner

This is a card I really messed with yesterday and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. I'm not a messy- something- everywhere kind of a person although of late I'm getting to be a pack rat. But this weekend the weather is suppose to get to the 70's so I'm shoving some furniture out the door and hoping to have a small yard sale. But about the card I used SU Chocolate Chip for the base and used Paper Studio Christian Words DSP. SU Jewels, Glimmer Mist, Ribbon Mania and Reflection Crosses 3D. I tried distressing the paper and as I used Ranger Inks, Glimmer Mist and Tattered Angels Mist it just got worse but I love the sentiment that comes from Deedee's Digi's at her new store. I had some time today to put a few cards together, I have 68 cards made and I do need 100 for the month. The images I used for this card came from 'As you Were' they are digitals and easy as heck to make a card with. I love the message it sends and the DSP is DCWV, SU basic white cardstock and the daisy ribbon is something I've had for 5 years .

As always I made several since I had the images already but each one is a little different with color or ribbons. I wish everyone would take a little time to make a couple of cards and send them off to OWH. Always remember to 'Pay it forward'. God Bless, Jeanine

Surprise Happy Birthday Deedee!

Happy Birthday Deedee, I hope everyone came here from April's blog and are enjoying this surprise blog hop for a very special lady Deedee! I've known Deedee for over five years, she's got the biggest heart the brightest smile and more compassion for people than I can imagine. She's blessed with a beautiful family, fabulous talent and smart as a whip. I've been busy again!!!

Yep, I sure have been busy I'm behind in my card making for OWH so I had to do some serious card making this past weekend. I've done this a few times before when I need some cards fast. For those of you that don't know me, I make 100 cards all by myself for 'Operation Write Home' every month. These cards are made with SU white card stock and then I used DCWV Pocket full of Posies DSP, SU ribbon and my stamp is from Whipper Snapper Stamps. Below you can see all my variations, I made 20 of these but hey I still have 20 cards to fulfill my

quota for the month. I love doing cards and I love making cards as my way of showing my appreciation to the soldiers.

Personal Journey: This week is pretty busy for me tomorrow the people from 'The Bridge' are coming to pick up my old living room furniture so I've been packing up knick knacks that were my mothers, and putting other stuff up while the moving of furniture is around. After the furniture is gone I have to shampoo the carpet and move other stuff downstairs then on Wednesday I get my new furniture (gosh I hope it all fits). Then on Thursday I am rearranging bedroom furniture and hoping the Groundhog is correct an we have spring coming real soon. My basement is over-crowded and I need a yard sale soon. I've donated clothes, dishes, furniture and still have a ton of stuff so I want a Yard Sale in reasonably warm weather, I've had enough of the cold

weather to last several winters. So if you think about it take the time to 'Pay it Forward' and be thankful for all our amazing blessings.

Sweet on U

Hi there, yes I made some Valentine cards although I wasn't going too! But I've had this SU punch for months and never used it so I decided it would be nice to make some cards. Then I plan to give them out to the ladies at the nursing home where Mom is on Monday. I hardly ever see anyone come to visit them and unfortuntely whenever I get there they are either sitting watching TV or eating meals. The card was made out of SU card stock and the DSP was bought at Dollar Tree the Owls are made out of the same DSP and I used a tag from the paper pack. Easy peasy card and I just had to use google eyes so they move.
Well that's it for this week, do you believe its February already? They say time flies when your having fun but geez slow down a little.
Remember to 'Pay it Forward' like I did. Today I called 'The Bridge' to donate my old furniture before they deliver the new stuff on Wednesday and that makes me feel good. Have a great weekend!

Thinking of you

This is a card that I really threw together. I colored my eagle from 'Our Daily Bread' with Copic's then ran my 2 1/2 inch circle through the brayer, I mounted it on a 3 inch scalloped blue SU cardstock circle. I made the banner then stamped the sentiment in black. Very simple but certainly a statement that I will send to a soldier at OWH. I try to send one or two cards of gratitude to the soldiers just to let them know how much I appreciate what they are doing for us here in the U.S.

Personal Journey: This morning I took my daughter and son in law to the airport, they were catching a flight to LA to take a 14 day cruise to Hawaii. They were so excited and happy to be going. As I was writing this entry Vicki sent me a text message with a photo of the view from their balcony room of a beautiful bridge in LA. To be 42 years old and on their 12th cruise already wow. I can't find a travel partner to go on a cruise with me so I've only got 3 cruises under my belt and 64! Well everyone have a great mid-week and count your blessings, God is good.

Shame on me!

Yes, I entered the Crazy for Cocoa contest this past week and then had popcorn guess it affected my brain function cause I haven't posted since. I try to post every other day what was I thinkin? Well this is the card I made using SU cardstock, DCWV Pocket full of Posies DSP, SU punches and buttons. I colored Cocoa (SNS image) by a cup but the image was too large and I really didn't like the size so I cut Cocoa out and put him on my popcorn box by (Deedee's Digi's) and waaa laaa the finished card. This card also fits into Deedee's challenge for the week.
So there it is now if someone will teach me how to like highlite or underline SNS or Deedee's Digi's so that if you clicked on them they would take you there I would be highly impressed with you. I'm still learning the blog stuff.

Personal Journey: For now gotta jet I have a list of stuff I have to do today I'm on a kick to donate tons of stuff to Good Will, clothes, knick -knacks and then put my new couch, love seat, end tables, coffee table, lamps, pillows, TV stand and 55" TV when its delivered in February. I'm having my windows replaced also since these are the originals and they let alot of cold air in so says my $224. electric bill, so I have lots of re-arranging to do. If I had known this weekend was going to be 64-65 degrees I would have had a yard sale with tons of furniture instead I sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine while my cat & dog romped in the yard. OK enough already, always remember to 'Pay it Forward'.

Love of Flowers

I love flowers any kind of flowers, I don't know alot about flowers heck fire when I moved here from Phoenix I got a book on birds because Arizona only has 'Roadrunners'. This was such a change with 4 seasons, flowers blooming, trees and lots of birds yep this was Heaven and I loved it. So anyway these two cards are made from 'Fred She Said' and they really are quite pretty when all cut out and put together in layers.

I used SU cardstock, Michael's
ribbon the green is gorgeous and the white is from the Cancer collection there. I layered the flowers five times on the pink card and used Stickles for the center. The saluation of both cards are from SU. Everyone have a wonderful day and always remember to 'Pay it Forward'.

What's Poppin?

I just love popcorn! I've been known to have popcorn as my dinner and yes I know with all that butter its not good for the heart but it sure makes me feel yummy for a while. I love this image its from Deedee's digi's and although I'm not on the design team anymore I just adore Ms. Deedee and her designs so I'll keep promoting her images because they are so adorable. I actually made this card for her Monday Challenge and for OWH's challenge this week. Needless to say I didn't stop at justone card I made three with my Copic's and SU DSP, Spellbinder dies, SU punches and ribbon. I love SU stuff... well I love all card making stuff I have a studio full of stuff and yet I still buy and then wonder where to put it all when I get it home. Last week HSN had a Crafting day and yes I spent money with some of the new stuff coming out. When I get it I'll share info with you! OWH Challenge

Is this bunny not the most adorable?
I put it together with the SU cardstock and Posie paper by DCWV. I used my Spellbinder circles for the matting behind the bunny. Of coarse I colored my bunny with Copics and I use the daisy's from Michael's dollar bin.

I actually made 9 cards all together using the same papers and cardstock just different designs for the cards. Doesn't it amaze you when you take a picture and then crop it how little things all of a sudden look like oops? Look at the daisy closest to the carrot top, it looks deformed up close but it doesn't look like that when I put it together.

Oh well I love the card and the bunny is so cute.

Tonight we all went out for Lindsey's 19th birthday to Logan's Steakhouse, I should have known she told her parents all about the trip boo boo's, how many times we got lost, the hotel from hell we were scheduled to stay at, the rain, the meals and everything else. Well I'll get my turn only my voice will reach people everywhere 'Thank you Internet'! Lindsey loves to make fun of you but guess what....don't you dare make her look silly or make fun of her. She has a temper just like her Mom and just like her Gram only difference it takes Vicki (her Mom) alot to get mad she usually breaks down crying before she loses it. Gram (me) well I can take alot before I blow up but when I do trust me you know I'm mad. Lindsey she just blows, you don't know which way she'll go until she does and then whoa, run for the hills. Heck we weren't out of Atlanta (2 hours from home) and she was mad at me because I wouldn't let her drive. That was just the first day for sure I'll get the rest of the story out tomorrow, it's almost midnight and I'm really tired so I'll catch up with all of you then. God Bless.

Just bee-cause

Well I'm back from Florida and it was interesting for sure with two teenagers and a body that wasn't capable of keeping up with them! But first off I want to talk about my Doodle Pantry image that I made a few days before I left for Orlando. I really do adore these images from Laurie at Doodle Pantry and she just had another image release today so stop by and see them at www.doodlepantry.blogspot.com
I used SU cardstock and SU DSP but used Michael's dollar satin ribbon to make my bow. I also used a row of mini gems to highlight the left side of the card. Of coarse my image was colored with Copic's and Spica glitter pens and its off to my OWH box to mail off next week.

My trip to Orlando was a present to my oldest grand daughter Lindsey Marie, it started out as just me wanting to see the new Harry Potter at Universal Studios and since she wanted to go I changed a few things and we headed out of Friday the 14th in the afternoon since TN had 10 inches of snow and lots of ice on the roadways. We made it to Daytona Beach at 1:30 in the morning and both Lindsey & Tyler were fast asleep in the back of my SUV. I woke them, they looked out the window and went right back to sleep and so started the journey. More tomorrow!

Little Fishes, Big Wishes

Have I told you lately that I love Doodle Pantry images? I used SU cardstock and scraps of DSP. I also used my new Spellbinder dies 'Scallop Square', I've actually had the dies for a few months but could never find a time to use it.

My second card is the same image but a different card design and doesn't it look totally different with accessories like the ribbon and pretty mini pearls. Laurie the designer and owner of Doodle Pantry has a great sight with plain images and colored ones. Cocoa from SNS

Hi there while we're on mini trip to Florida I thought I would put up this darling Cocoa card that I made with SU card stock and SU DSP. I love love love this DSP it is so bright and pretty. I added some organza ribbon, some mini gems and I was done but I so love Cocoa. I colored this is Copic's but couldn't get the heart in the envelope a good color.
We're in Universal Studio's haven't a ball I'm sure! I hope my back and hip don't give me any problems but then I'll probably mess something up with all the roller coasters I just can't not go on them, their my passion. Have a great weekend and remember to 'Pay it Forward'.

I blew it I thought of Barney but colored it wrong of well he's still adorable with those wiggle eyes and any young child would love to get this card. I made it for OWH colored it with Copic's and then added ribbon and a darling Happy Birthday circle. I'm headed to Orlando with my grand daughter Lindsey and her boyfriend Tyler to visit Universal Studio's Hogwart's School of Wizardry (sp). I so excited I loved the Harry Potter books and read each of them twice and I have seen all the movies at least once. So I plan of scheduling my posts until I return, won't be gone but a few days but need to get away from this snow and ice. Keep us in your prayers for safe travel down there.

Pink & Red Challenge

Happy Wednesday everyone hope this week has been good to you, here in SE Tennessee we still have lots of snow and snowplows are obsolete.

I made this card yesterday for Deedee's weekly challenge: Pink & Red colors together I used SU DSP Pink Flamingo goes perfect with Deedee's digi 'Fabulous Friend'. I used the crochet flowers on sale now at SU for $2.49 and I used watercolor pencils to color the flamingo, yes you heard me right watercolor pencils but I forgot to use watercolor paper so my black ink smeared a little. OWH Challenge

I made a card for the 'Operation Write Home' challenge using a specific design. The DSP is from SEI called Madeline I used a SU scallop punch, button and CM corner punch and my Cricut. Yep that was my Christmas present to myself a Cricut Expression and I've used it exactly 3 times. I need a teacher to help me but I do have to say I got the tool kit when I got the Cricut and today while getting up the saying I Miss You, I cut myself with one of the scrapers. Whoa that puppy is sharp and I have a gash in the palm of my hand to prove it. I took a picture of it but didn't want to subject you to that so I didn't post it. As for the image its a digital and for the life of me I don't have any idea who designed it. I file all my digi's by designer and I feel bad I don't have a name on this if anyone knows who designed it please let me know. Have a great night its suppose to be 12 degrees tonight, the roads still aren't plowed, traffic is still at a standstill in a few places and we leave for Orlando on Friday night Hogwarts here I come.

Cowboy up in the Snow

This is my card for today its an image I got off the Internet and the Wanted verse is from SU Wanted stamp set. It's in plain black and white and I think the snow flake background paper works with this horseback rider. Not many of you know that I use to ride horses in Arizona I actually owned 4 horses at one time. My youngest daughter and I rode on a Equestrian drill team for almost 8 years going all over Arizona, Nevada, California and both my girls loved riding horses. With my degenerative bone disease I had to give them up eventually but I still love them to pieces.

This is what I woke up too today 6 inches of snow. It's the second time in less than 3 weeks that we have had snow. Usually we get a dusting but rarely does it ever stick, their telling us we're going to get another 2 inches tonight and almost everything is closed down here. I don't think they have snow plows and any accumulation cancels any travel. Just to show you how much I believed it would really snow.....all my shovels are out in the shed out back and I have no snowboots, needless to say my driveway nor walkway will be cleaned until it melts or I can sweep it away.I've got a long driveway so I have a feeling I'll be making lots of cards and reading some of my books in my stash from Paperbookswap.com. So I'm enjoying the snow my little dog and cat aren't but get over it.

Latte Love

Is this not adorable? This is a card I made for OWH and I got the image from Deedee's Digi's its called ------------- and can be found at www.deedeesdigis.blogspot.com . I might not be on the design team anymore but it doesn't mean I can't used all her digi's to make those cards for OWH. This card I used SU cardstock and DSP then I layered the image colored with Copic's on So Saffron cardstock and used my "Puff Fluff" I call it, you put it on your image then heat it and it puffs up and looks so cool.
Well its the weekend and I'm heading out for dinner with my granddaughter and her boyfriend so I'll post again tomorrow. It's been a long day with another change in my BP med's (it's the 5th change in 3 months) and my BP is still 170/92. After having another blood draw (it only took 3 tries this time) I sent off my OWH cards to Dixie in N.C. then headed to the library for some reading materials. As soon as I finish 'The Shadow of Your Smile' by Mary Higgins Clark I'm starting a old Fern Michaels book called 'The Guest List'. Ok have a great Saturday night! Jeanine

Doodle Pantry

Doodle Pantry is one of my favorite Digital Image places. Laurie has a knack for drawing and she has fantastic sets available at her sight www.doodlepantry.blogspot.com and today she released another 5 sets. Wow I'm amazed so I made two cards to enter into her challenge for this week. The first one 'Just bee-cause' is adorable and I used all SU card stock and DSP love the pasley print and the mushroom symbols of my era. I used Michael's dollar ribbon and gemstones that I bought there also and I always color everything in my Copic's and Spica pens.

My second card is the Birdie and Laurie has captured my heart with this bird, he's always so happy and full of love that I used him and all his images alot when I make cards for OWH which I plan to send both of these cards. Notice the pasley print on this one also its some scraps I've been saving and dug it out to make this precious card.

Bleach Technique

Happy Tuesday to everyone, I was watching Gina K TV the other day and saw this technique and decided to try it. First I stamped my images then I embossed them with black embossing powder then I took a SU paint pen brush put some bleach in it and then I carefully put the bleach on the butterflies. Maybe if I had used clorex instead of a cheap brand they might have come out whiter but hey I thought it was pretty neat. I used SU cardstock Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive some DSP, black grograin ribbon and a edger punch to add a little pazzaz and I was done. These will be going out to the soldiers next Monday.

I would love to ask if any of you have some cards or card fronts you want to get rid of I will gladly ship them off with my monthly shipments to 'Operation Write Home'. Mostly they can use Thinking of You, Missing You, Happy Birthday and Hello cards. I don't make the holiday cards very often because I hate working that far in advance of a holiday and trust me everyone else loves to make them so I just keep to the generic cards. If you have cards or card fronts you want to get rid of send me a email and I will give you my address. I totally prepare the cards for shipment by stamping the backs of the cards with the 'OWH' logo, writing paper lines inside the card and stuffing them in envelopes.

More OWH Cards

This is another card that I made for 'Operation Write Home'. I love these cards because Daddy's or Mom's can grab a card and keep in touch with their children while away. I so enjoy making these cards for the soldiers that its a weekly challenge to myself to make them.

As you can see I change up the papers, ribbons, designs but all have the same love in each card when I make them. I love the Whipper Snapper images that were given to me, it makes it so easy put cards together. I want to thank Cheryl for all the images she has sent over the past six months. I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year celebration.

Missing "You"

Everyone knows I love making cards so my friend in Georgia always sends me lots of Whipper Snapper images colored for quick card making. It sure helps me to have them colored then all I have to do it match up the card stock and I'm in business. I try to make 100 cards a month for 'Operation Write Home' and I know that they always need cards for Miss You, Kids cards and birthday cards.

Well after making 18 cards today you can't imagine my surprise when I saw the Hero's blog challenge for 'Miss you' cards. My cheater suggestions for making these cards.........I use DCWV boxed card and envelopes that way the inside is white and the soldiers can write home on white better than colored card stock. I also try to line up my DSP an card stock to my images then sit down to make up my cards. I'm a very patriotic person and since I can't serve my country my way to 'Pay it Forward' is to make cards and support the troops overseas, I'm proud of the cards I make and send off. I use to do alot of swaps but I haven't found a good one lately so if anyone knows of one let me know, I miss the card swaps.

Here's another 'Wish Big' digital image from Deedee's Digi's. I think these are so perfect for birthdays. You can dress them up like this or use juvenile paper for kid cards. The lace I got along time ago and haven't seen anymore like it although I'm out of it now. I love the pearl gems it really adds alot to the cards.
